Agnes Varda is a treasure of a woman who continues to inspire. I saw Visages, Villages in a packed cinema recently and there was so much love in the room for her. (Jean-Luc is a dirty rat!)

She’s not the brightest bulb in the chandelier.

Maybe you’re thinking, god, these hippies.

Agreed. Prefixes are stupid. Though the huge list of new prefix options HSBC recently released is pretty cool. For example - Mre, for “mystery”. I would totally choose that one.

Pretty much any time I’m registering or signing up for something, I’m asked for a prefix. Primarily for the purpose of postal correspondence, I assume, but it’s generally not an optional field to fill out.

I am a cis woman who would be happy to have X next to my gender - if more people do it, fewer questions will be asked for anyone who chooses this designation (though it may take awhile for this to become ‘normalized’). and also: it’s none of your business what gender I identify as. I’m also really into the Mx prefix

In sharp contrast, the New Orleans Film Festival is making a commitment to diversity and inclusion of women’s voices. This year, fifty-percent percent of the films are by female directors, 45 percent by directors of color.

It seems to be doing the film fest circuit prior to its wider release date :)

I’m seeing this on Sunday! I hope it’s good - a movie like this could go either way.

Agreed and agreed

Those pics of him and Malcolm from question time on Monday made my fuckin week!

No idea! Especially considering the disproportionately high number of dual citizens I would assume are in Aussie politics compared to in the states...it seems to only suddenly have become an issue.

Yeah, but it’s not like they are random countries - Barney’s dad was born in NZ. A few MPs who have resigned were actually born in their country of second citizenship. It’s not that hard to vet yourself prior to running for office.

We’ve all been cackling about this down here for the last day. It’s been an issue of late where suddenly all these government officials started realising they hold dual citizenship with other countries (how can you not know, right?!) and this happening to Barnaby is particularly delicious considering that each of the

This movie is so funny. Also, in my screening, someone was wearing a perfume that smelled like California so it was almost like smell-o-vision! Amazing

It is also true that men are generally given higher-paid positions. The reason executives and company directors are mostly men isn’t because men are smarter. It’s because systemicly male-focused hiring practices put them there.

Same. Our local film fest is around the corner and I’m hoping they give us a screening of The Bride Wore Black as a tribute.

I know - I would probably fly to Sydney for the chance to stuff my face with a breakfast crunch wrap.

That’s so weird. I heard a rumour years ago that there were some Taco Bells around but I never saw one - wish there were some of those rather than Outback Yuckhouse :/

Cheers, Paul
