I mean the fact that this show has Bayer as a lead is kind of a big selling point, it sort of makes sense. Like I wouldn’t necessarily phrase it the same for Simon but I might say “It’s about time David Simon did a new project; Lord knows after The Wire anything he does is going to be interesting.”

what if every episode of the wire reviewed started off with “David simon, great guy really should be allowed to do whatever he wants in a show.”

When money is scarce, I’d agree, its irresponsible.  But once you have enough money for your lifestyle....  we all waste money a bit in some ways in order to “purchase convenience”.  This is no different.
