Yea, well, sure the words “have asked” don’t themselves imply detention, but just walking out (or attempting to) in that kind of situation is probably not a smart move. Hence, why you politely ask the question in order to clarify the situation and your rights.

And, I should add, the area around the arena is perfectly safe. I’ve been there a ton of times for games and concerts. Never once have I felt unsafe or seen anything remotely dangerous/unsavory.
