Yeah, I kind of agree. I bought a 2016 GTI at $4,500 below MSRP at the end of 2015, and this is basically that deal but on a 2 year old car. We also own a 2012 TDI wagon (paid $27,600 in July 2012, about $1500 below sticker if I recall. But man, the diesel engine in the MQB platform is probably a great ride. She got a

Many of the dealers near me are only at 2-3k below MSRP on the TDIs. Just a terrible deal.

Personally, I wouldn’t feel comfortable buying any new car that had been sitting in the elements, unused, for 2 years. Cars aren’t designed to sit for extended periods.

Not trying to be an a-hole, but a 5k discount (if I read that correctly) on a 2 year old but zero mileage car doesn’t seem like a super deal. I would have thought they’d be a lot cheaper.

I would’ve expected a deeper discount, even without the cheating scandal. A 2-year-old VW that originally sold for $27k? I’d guess a fair price would be around $14k, diesel or not.

I still say you all are crazy for paying that much. A gas GSW, brand new, is about $20k after incentives. The two year old diesels should have been $15k tops.

That is some crazy “what are the odds stuff” right there! I would love to know what happened to my Dad’s car, but I’m betting it’s at the bottom of a junkyard in Washington state somewhere.

The sad thing is....there are enough people out there who view cars the same way they would a toaster that you most likely wouldn’t have too much trouble finding enough people who have no idea what they’re looking at to fill the commercial.

Sometimes I wish I had taken the time to be trained as a BMW tech. Not because I ever want to work in a service department, but just so that I could confidently drive a BMW over 5 years of age or with any modification.

Came here expecting a TT powertrain, left disappointed.

Unless its Willie Mays Hayes Beetle, I wan’t none of it good sir.

Owning this means you run the risk of every TT owner pelting you with rocks because you are reminding them they drive a tarted-up beetle.

100% crime they are not in cars anymore.

Hah. We have a few of those officers on our department also. The front seat is literally the back seat. Along with the Taurus we are getting Explorers and the taller officers are getting issued those first.

You probably have that fancy power steering too, talk about disconnected from your car.

Who will save the carburetors?
