I marathoned 2 dope queens a couple of weeks ago, when I recommended it to my brother I told it that it was an incredible show and warned him that listening to it will make him feel like shit because both Jessica Williams and Phoebe Robinson are too young to be as smart, talented, and funny as they are.
I’ve spoken with friends about something similar with friends in regard to race. It seems that in too many books/movies/tv shows, a shorthand for identifying a character as a bad guy is to have them use racial slurs or be otherwise racist. It’s grating as a POC who might otherwise enjoy these works
