Okay...the obvious caveats aside that Bill Cosby is almost certainly guilty of horrible crimes, now EVEN MORE public money is being spent on prosecuting (and, potentially, subsequently jailing) an EIGHTY-YEAR-OLD MAN. There’s a reason that we usually let people out at this age or younger.

She’s not ill. Just because someone does something morally repugnant, that doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill. This attitude is ableist and does a great disservice to people who are actually mentally ill, of whom the vast majority are non-violent.

So fucking what. Her illness doesn’t mitigate or excuse what she did. Get counseling in jail. Forgive the rest of us for not being as sensitive and enlightened as you.

I’ll take that bet. I bet you they’re locked the other way. I bet 7+ or more vote acquit but there’s a few people that think that if a woman claims she was drugged, even in the absence of any hard evidence she actually was, then she must have been assaulted.
