"As corrupt as Rome" would be intriguing and prescient, wouldn't it? However, I think he just said "as corrupt as Roman." Reason: the show has very deliberately avoided (for the most part) discussing any religions other than LDS and FLDS (or whatever you call what the polygamists practice). You never hear them

"silly (intentionally and un-)" is a perfect way to describe the original. Creepiest scene IMO was the four thugs driving down the road, and the whorish bad girl is having sex with the lead bad guy, bouncing up and down on his lap in their convertible as they roll along. Accompanied by crazy, hillbilly banjo music.

Replacing the cast of Entourage with the Greens might actually make that show tolerable.

Chiming in on Grace Zabriskie love. She is 100% awesome, and definitely a highlight of "Big Love."

Topher's "intern?"
Who was that chick that he made go get the groceries? She was cute, and I thought we might have seen her on Buffy or Angel before, because she seemed familiar too.

I love me some DePalma
He sometimes disappoints me, but I still love him. Femme Fatale was just OK, actually I enjoy it more than I want to each time I watch it. But I think Body Double and Carrie are still my favorites. And of course Phantom of the Paradise is just a great combination of fantastic, flamboyant, and

OMG yes, Doc. Todd Haynes made a biography of Karen Carpenter using nothing but Barbie dolls (Superstar: The Karen Carpenter Story). You can definitely find it on the Innernetz. I have to say, it's the scariest damn thing I've ever seen that involved only plastic dolls. The way he actually scraped down the Karen doll

Don's wives
Actually, the footsie was occurring during a Bridge game (or some type of card game) and yes, it was the first thing I thought of when Don revealed that the two wives had run off. I think Bill has an inkling too, just based on his "Together?!" reaction.

Same here, I never saw the film because I was afraid it couldn't live up to the book, which was fantastic (if depressing).
