For those of you that freak out any time I complain about the show spinning it’s wheels when it comes to plot, and that this is all about charcter development, I submit this episode as to why both aren’t going well.

The length was my gripe too. I mostly liked what was there, but it felt like at some point nothing was really happening.
It was a great episode but I think it could’ve been better if it was shorter. The first 18 minutes seemed to be Jamie Lee Curtis just screaming. I know actors think being constantly intense seems ‘authentic’, but it gets a bit boring after a certain amount of time.
Joel McHale has had a busy schedule of appearing over Jeremy Allen White’s shoulder throughout the day to scream mean things at him.

THe highs do. I loved the opener. “Napkins” is incredible. I have FF several times because it’s just... repeating the same thing over and over. I’m all for character over plot, but I couldn’t say that much of what’s going on is doing “character development” or... well, being that interesting. “the same information…
One THOUSAND percent.
Keep thinking they had one season and stretched it two. The big ending is like
Character driven, yes.
This season is just... So meandering. It would be different if the character development and character interactions/dialogue were more compelling. Some great episodes! It’s not a bad show!
Show: Displays “Every Second Counts” constantly.
Also Show: takes its time with characters, who are starting to realize (to varying degrees) what really matters to them.
Everyone else: MOVE FASTER PLEASE.
I think I may love this season even more than S2 when I look back on it. It’s not afraid to take its time and it…
Plot doesn’t have to be king, but it does have to be queen, or at least a jack.
I always make that distinction as well. For example, I think Star Trek II is the best Trek film but Star Trek VI is my favorite.
Okay Kripke, we get it. You’re cooler than Marvel, grittier than DC and more shocking than American Horror Story. You’re going to show us all the shit, cum, breast milk, and butt holes that we can stand. High fives all around. Power to the people. Maybe we can focus more on the story and less on the butt holes?
“Is there a point to any of the madness besides the show trying to make our jaws drop?:
I agree this was the worst episode ever and last week was already pretty bad. It feels like a fan fiction written by the 15 years old pseudo revolutionaries kids we all knew at high school (well at least I had a lot like that). It’s incredibly stupid.
I liked Temple of Doom more than Last Crusade when I was a kid, but within a few years I started to like Last Crusade more, to the point that it’s actually the Indy movie I enjoy watching the most. (I’m not going to say it’s “better” than Raiders, mainly because saying one piece of art is “better” than another is…
The scene between Tina and Mikey is so good. Obviously, Liza is fantastic so not downplaying that, but man, that’s such a showcase for the raw, natural charisma that Jon Bernthal possesses. It’s not quite “Walton Goggins” level for me, but it’s damn close.
The other theme of this season is that the plot doesn’t advance at all.
Personally I think both movies are seriously overrated.
