Yeah, if I could get my pop culture fix somewhere else I would be out of here in a heartbeat. The way they’re treating the last few remaining writers who made the AV Club what it once was is appalling. The site is already a shell of its former self, and after this I can’t see how it can become anything but a rotting

So, uh, anyone found a satisfying AV Club replacement? Kinda seems like any remnants of what I liked about this site are about to go away.

Thank you. I’m not watching a video. I’d do a slideshow first.

Pretty sure the only thing that is going to make some people happy is if they define a planet as the “things I was taught were planets when I was ten”.

Sure the old EU was weird but the thing about it is that fans reminiscing about it now tend to forget the whole issue that 99 times out of 100 the weirdness was... well it was utter shit.

Honestly you can cherrypick the old sarlacc story and make it sound good, or you can lay it out on the EU tapestry as it was and realize that EVERYTHING you saw on the screen ever was redefined as a brilliant immortal or secret jedi or psychic collection of mutant bugs or something. By the end of the EU you were at

He just… kind of punched his way out, then blew some holes in the monster with a wrist-mounted flamethrower. It clearly took a toll on Fett, who must now sleep in a bacta tank to heal,

Why does it differ from the old one? Probably because the old one sounds stupid.

The first season was very, very good. S2 was a series of backdoor pilots for the Disney Content Factory that forgot to tell a compelling story beyond remember this???

My fucking kingdom for a light-hearted take on Batman where he does a ton of detective work, has some cool fights off and on, but the focus is on his life as a well-liked (by some, at least) vigilante whose basically a stern father figure.

I was glad to see For All Mankind on the list myself. People do not talk about that show enough, dammit.

Totally. I would claim it’s best show that’s been made during last 10 years. Barry as close second and Chernobyl as third.

I’m really glad that For All Mankind is getting such strong props in these end of year lists. It’s been one of my favourite shows since its premier and I can’t wait to see where they take it in Season 3.

Maybe they are just all being asked to move to LA?

Let's not get carried away by the urban legend that anything happened in the matrix revolutions.

Agreed. Sometimes it’s so awkward too. Like that scene last season where they’re all having dinner together and the pilot with the bionic eye (can’t remember their name) has an outburst. Or the backstory to the cyborg officer (can’t remember their name) given in the same episode that they kill her off at the end.

We’re definitely not watching the same show. I dropped out last season after being clubbed in the head too many times.

The show has a great talent for emotional manipulation
