I would not hesitate to DD this.
I would not hesitate to DD this.
It's the best one you can get... unless you get a better one.
Note: the early non-turbo 7.3L (87-93??), known as the IDI, shares nothing with the 94-2000 7.3L powerstroke.
The more you know...
I dunno, I think some would argue that the 7.3 PSD has the greatest power potential in the diesel market, as well as comparable reliability. No doubt Ford dropped the ball when they switched from the 7.3L and totally screwed up the EGR/oil cooling mechanism, thereby granting Cummins the edge in the market.
BS... Starship Troopers is waaaayyy too good to be anywhere near this list. IMDB has it at 7.2, you know, cause it's a good movie.
I wouldn't say they're shitty so much as they are picky. They really just require a level of finesse and attention that most drivers simply don't have, and there's no such thing as an AWD platform that doesn't require a little finesse and care. I've seen Subaru transmissions go a really long time with lots of power…
Yeah, the clock tells all. It tells how crappy both of those drivers are. The Z06 bogged like hell and the viper short shifted. A seasoned, familiar driver would have either of those cars in the low 11s. I mean, they both had 2.20ish 60' times. I'm unimpressed.
The Viper appears to be "shallow staging," that is, staging as far back from the start line as legally possible. You have a couple feet to play with after your front tires cross the staging beam before they reach the start line. Different strategies for staging are perfectly legal within certain constraints in drag…
this guy.
A tall catch can is a good idea, but I use a transmission jack and just set a catch pan on it. I almost got a tall catch can, but I decided the trans jack would take up less room than having both a trans jack and a catch can, since space is always at a premium no matter how big your shop is. I also have different…
From the south, 10/10 would lol.
Suckas... I got mine on craigslist and set it up myself. I've got about $1200 in it altogether so I did pretty well.
Wow, I'm going to spend some time checking out his website now. Thanks for that link!
11.13 on a stock 2006 Z06, that's incredible. Just goes to show how much subtlety there is in the art of drag racing, and the difference between what a test driver or new owner can do, versus what a car is actually capable of in the…
Not as close as I expected them to be, honestly. So what do we think happened here?
2.20 Viper vs 2.24 Vette in 60' times. Lets talk about how crappy that is. I wouldn't put much stock in this as a "benchmark" race considering neither of these drivers were able to leave the line like a seasoned and familiar driver should be able to.
No, the Viper cut a nice quick reaction time and left the tree right at the green. The Corvette was late on the jump, which is why the Viper was able to still win the race even though it had a slower Elapsed Time. See the green light at the end of the track? That means the Viper won.
And that's why he won. See the green light at the end? That means the viper won. Slower ET and still won.
And 260k on my Forester. Something about Subarus and Ford trucks. It's the perfect combo.
360k on my 94.
If Ford claims it will have one of the best power to weight ratios in the industry, then it stands to reason that it could be very lightweight. This is just guessing, but it stands to reason that it could be less than 3000 lbs which would make it very fast indeed. Considerably faster than those other options.
