What a tomato-ey take.
What a tomato-ey take.
I seem to recall a lot of conservative blood pressures spiking, Scanners style,, when a pastor that Obama was associated with criticized America. And by that, I clearly recall that and what a big deal it was made out to be. Literally just a somewhat brimstone-y criticism by a completely different person that they knew.
The herbivores, if anything, seem more likely to be useful, and probably not terribly hard to pen in and feed after a bit of study and experimentation. I could see farmers being very interested in something relatively docile that turns ferns into meat efficiently, herds naturally, and isn’t going to be bothered by…
I wondered the same thing! Like, there are a couple dozen dinosaurs of different species, some of which are probably adapted to niches that don’t exist anymore - what’s a Carnotaurus gonna eat? 4 deer a day, and it has to catch them? No breeding population, an environment that probably can’t sustain most of them, and t…
I’m not sure it’s fully fair to associate dictators exclusively with communism. We propped up guys like Pinochet and Noriega for years and years. Putin is hardly a communist or socialist, it’s not really fair to call the last two Kims socialist or communist, or the guy from Kazakhstan, or Erdogan.
Does he suck “Democrats are basically Khmer Rouge” hard? I can’t see how he would. Or “fuck up a scheduled interview with CNN because you didn’t prepare adequately?”
Hey. Hey. Sometimes they just have you beaten and tear-gassed. It’s been almost a whole hundred years since they’ve resorted to using bombers and armored cars to kill people to protect someone else’s money. Nowadays, they mostly just fire rubber bullets at you, hose you with water in freezing temperatures, cut off…
Oh, shit, I got called out. LoveAmerica Notalib has supplied the helpful feedback that “everything [I] said was a blatant lie.”
Someone didn’t read any of Miller’s non-DC work, or get the subtext in some of his DC work like The Dark Knight Returns, did they? They didn’t really get that Miller is super into white, rage-driven Mary Sues carrying out revenge fantasies against people of color and various types of perceived deviant with all the…
Why on earth would they let Frank Miller’s weird, fascist ass anywhere near Superman at this point?
When’s the last time he had an event that wasn’t VERY carefully coordinated? Even when people manage to get into his little rallies, there’s the constant threat of violence, and a very real risk of being thrown out if you’re anything but enthusiastically on board. They don’t even let you get on camera if you don’t…
I usually use a toaster oven for this, but in a very similar way. I usually go with a lower temp just so I don’t burn the crap out of it with the much-closer heating element.
It’s very rare with tap water, and usually takes enough time to heat it to boiling, so a couple of minutes or more. It should be safe.
Why’s he look like what would happen if Frodo Baggins did 17 tours in Apocalypse Now? That guy looks like George Custer got hit with Benjamin Button’s disease and he just carried on being a sociopathic war criminal. Also, who the hell names their kid like he’s in a spaghetti Western? “This is my toddler, Brisco Cain.…
Kind of a Sword in the Stone situation? “Whosoever punches this hate-filled, dumbass pustule onto the tarmac will be King of England President of the United States for eight years.”
Somebody’s got to carry on the family business.
I mean, his guy Giuliani did that in New York, didn’t he? As NYC-centric as he is, I wouldn’t be surprised if he views that as a resounding success, and wonders why it’s not happening everywhere.
All of this is inevitable, and the will of Mammon, the One True God. It is right that the wealthy should consume the poor, and it is right that they should be the last ones standing on a ruined planet. Such is the Divine Will of His Invisible Hand. /s
That’s inspired, but I dunno how they’re gonna work in two Freds. I’m trying to think who would be a good Nobby once they got in make-up...
I’m also down for a nonbinary Cherry. Sure, she’s female in the books, but like you said, from a culture where being a woman carries different baggage. But the book was also written a while ago, and I can’t imagine Terry Pratchett would be bothered about something like that.
