Things that I turn to when I'm sad and need a laugh—
Jimmy Pardo and Todd Glass doing the voice of Andrew Dice Clay's wife
Stephen Colbert interviewing Eleanor Holmes Norton
The Parks and Recreation with Get On Your Feet
and of course videos of panda bears doing silly shit.
But Mr T on The Daily Show with Steve Carell is

Wearing JNCO's I hope.

That's what I was thinking too—the music just isn't that good. I guess the Defttones are decent—but I think that's it.

Yeah I can see that of course—I wonder this though—I would assume that there are some people just discovering Nirvana and Pearl Jam—do you think the same thing is going on with Korn and Limp Bizkit?

Me too. I watched the opening of it last week and I didn't know any of those people.

There was nothing more enjoyable than smoking some weed ditching my intro to psych class and watching some TRL. Now why exactly was Nu Metal popular? What was going on sociological that lead to this? In 1998, you see the death of the alt-rock with the Smashing Pumpkins and Hole kinda bombing out, you got Marilyn

what about hair metal?

He was on an episode of Intervention—it did not go well

When I was a teen in the mid 90's—Journey was just the fucking worst—but then they weaseled into my head ironically at first and then by God—I started liking the songs! Now I think of them as a pretty good classic rock band.

Oh man that avatar!
I thought it was a really nice read too.

Yep—and it's fun to think that he's been blowing minds since the early 60's. I don't know how people discover him—word of mouth probably or a cool sibling but what a wonderful guide to the horror that is high school

He really is hit or miss—Fargo Rock City and Killing Yourself to Live are both quite good—but now I feel like he writes as almost a parody of himself.

It's probably the title song—and it's great—but maybe I skip it from time to time. But you know thinking about it—I don't often skip it.

yeah been through Dirty Mind and Purple Rain a couple of times today.

and there are albums I love more—Paul's Boutique, Pet Sounds, The White Album—that have things that aren't essential. I mean the White Album seems to have songs that you're suppose to ignore. Nothing like that on Purple Rain.
And the singles on it! Holy shit! Some of the greatest songs you can ever hear on the radio.

I listened to this album this morning—after downloading Tidal for godsakes. Hoo boy what an album. It's all killer no filler on a profound level.

people are dickheads.

Prince memory—I recall when Purple Rain came out on video—which I guess would have been in 1985 I was 7—maybe that was the VCR boom? I don't know. Regardless—we got lucky and were able to check out a copy of it at the local Sound Warehouse—when we took it back I remember walking up to the front door of the store and
