England's Dreaming might just be my favorite music book. It's real good!
oh i'm the wrong fella on that—i love dirty Carson.
I thought it was—if you liked the thing Jimmy Pardo wrote for the AV Club last week—then you'll definitely like this one.
Oh god yes. I haven't dipped back into this in awhile but when I think it's Graham Elwood asking for the tarp—sweet Jesus that's funny.
Ah man—I know that we already had Jimmy Pardo relating to us the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but boy I thought Never Not Funny was so great this week.
I was unsure about my apostrophe usage
Did you ever watch 30 Rock? Remember the Tracey Jordan character? There were plenty of jokes about African American culture at his expense, right? Fey and Carlock are comedy writers—they aren't working at Jacobin. Maybe what they've created isn't funny—but that's all they need to work on.
almost?
BELGUIM'S IN THE CONGO!
Man I really liked this. he was exasperated. also I read the lyrics to American Pie just now and having never done that before—I can confirm what we all know—it's hot garbage.
Steve Miller wants to do one thing and that's—reach out and grab ya!
I don't have a lot to add. I think this is great though. Pardo keeps it real!
I always think well these bands must have some sort of affinity for this person that they're inducting—naïve in thinking that I'm sure—but come on! Get someone that gives a damn!
I can't hear Archer and not think of Ben Katz.
What a nice little journey through my 20's—Dr. Katz, The Daily Show, Insomniac, Tough Crowd—I would have liked to seen more the disasters that Comedy Central has put out—but I forgot how much great stuff they did.
Gotta be Nikolai Volkoff
Where's "Into Yer Shtik" by Mudhoney? "Why don't you blow your brains out too" I always thought that was about Courtney
They recorded DOWN ON THE STREET!!
I would hate to get a strongly worded email/note from that fella.
