I’m too old and fat now to ride these kinds of bikes and really I have little interest in the ‘hyper’ sport part of the market but I really like your review.
It would be nice to see the ‘other’ stuff. Particularly with the EICMA show for instance.
I was really expecting another tiny, ‘needs more power’ inner city Euro/Asian bike for the masses. This however, is AWESOME! I’ve never been a fan of Yamaha but this, at first glance is really getting me excited in my nether regions.

Ok, so I’ve been looking at a Monster for a while now, the 1200, not the S model. Now this thing appears and I have to say that I like the idea in my heart but my brain is struggling to justify and even fully like this new R model.

A lesson in ‘boxing’ corners vs ‘slipping’ corners. He is strong under braking with supreme stability and speed in the fast transitions and corners. He does not have to ‘box’ or cut a 90 to take the corners, he just ‘slips’ through with beautiful precision and stability.

Very well put. I have been involved in these negotiations first hand and I can tell that it’s like the wild west. Companies now demand and expect huge incentive packages and it’s become just another ‘thing to do’ in the deal. as common as breathing.
