This show is toast. It's going on a 2-month hiatus at the end of November.

I dunno...I don't want more choice, I just want better things. I want to read the New Yorker, The Magazine for Fantasy and Science Fiction, Nature, etc. without glare, without glitches, without paying through the nose for it digitally. Everything seems to be a shabby compromise.

I got one for Christmas way back then, (1966? 1967? Dunno—the folks bought it at Two Guys in Union, NJ). I vaguely remember it being more educational than fun. It DID teach me binary math, if I remember correctly. It wasn't electronic at all, though.

@Annalee Newitz: Actually, by that time, I had suspended belief in everything in the film. It was like taking the drugs they give you for a colonoscopy. You'd really rather be anywhere else, but that part of your brain is floating.

@Toastie: Not true, Toastie. I saw it. I was laid up with a torn ligament and it was on cable. I stared at the screen and felt my veins turning black, being drawn to its hideousness.

@MajorMattMason: That was what I was thinking. "Ohnos! They're here to help us!" sort of deal. IMDB also lists a sequel for 2012, Skyline 2. I'm going to see it no matter how shitty the reviews are. I like seeing things blow up and such.

@Swifter: Oh fer Christ's sake...

@yrag01: We'd need to ask Betty Jo Bieloski for the answer.

@HektikLyfe: I've seen the trailers, but want to avoid seeing any more—I hope we haven't seen the best of the film online!

This really sux. SF that has some thought behind it is, more and more, having a hard time on television. It may have been uneven, but it asked you to do a bit of thinking. Showtime? Starz? Someone wanna pick it up?

In its place, SyFy will run WWF reruns and the new series "Mansquito:After the Laughter."

Please don't let this suck...please don't let this suck...please...

Reminds me in tone of Firesign Theatre's Nick Danger.

Who's Dallas here?

@Steve Williams: Because Dr David Suzuki would know how to distribute it AND calm everyone down at the same time. He's that good.

Yes, but imagine having to watch Wa-wa-wa-Windows! Windows 386! on a giagantron screen and have to sing it back to Chairman Bill and the board at a company meeting. Do you know what a soul feels like when it is empty?

Whenever I see Gene, I think of the anti-Gene.

@birdmocker: I dunno—it would be a way of explaining Sean's family, his in the nick of time abilities, etc.
