This also bugged me, because I was thinking I would eventually catch up on that show that everyone said got better after season one (see also: The Walking Dead, The Killing *shudder*).

@avclub-0ae7484a9f3bbd2a21df420050c032ae:disqus Oh most definitely. He's got so much presence in everything he does, he can make boring material really good. I've heard he even made his parts in "Obsessed" totally watchable (I haven't seen it).
Yeah, the movie telegraphs its total lack of interest in a detailed story or characters pretty much from the beginning. It is, in fact, interested in awesome fight scenes with a bit of visual humor thrown in to keep it interesting, and it succeeds pretty damn well at that point.
@Scrawler2:disqus Well, his name wasn't. His main character trait was SPOILER cancer. Oh and "tough commander who plays by the rules except when he doesn't."
Mostly?!
So THAT's why Mr. Rogers warned me away from old man Rose.
Here's the thing about Pacific Rim: it's probably the dumbest good movie I've ever seen. It had a moronic plot full of hastily sketched characters and dialogue that was either written by a 7-year-old or a bunch of drunks. But the movie also makes it clear that it doesn't care about all those things. What it cares…
Yeah, those McNeives really get on my nerves.
Those are the Greyjoy cousins from Cajun country. Those guys are REAL fucked up.
@avclub-72a8ab4748d4707fda159db0088d85de:disqus Yeah, my rules are basically no meat unless (1) travelling, to experience the local food (2) very special occasions and (3) Fuck, you made brisket? It would be rude for me not to eat brisket.
Oh, that does sounds nice. Send us a pic!
@avclub-323ca7b091beb1b26cc7a2612f1475d5:disqus Unfortunately the quality of those brands has dipped in recent years. If this is aimed at people who don't know a damn thing about clothes (which its tone suggests) I think that the items they're showing are poor investments in terms of a price/quality ratio.
Ah, the old "dressing up = dressing well" fallacy is alive and well at Buzzfeed.
Where is poutine? Because if it's somewhere in the continental United States, I WILL rent a car.
Hmm, is it worth going out to Bethesda? Or should I wait for reservations at Le Diplomate to open up in *looks at calendar* 3 years?
I can't remember where I read this, but it was something about how every good meal in France and Italy manages to taste better than literally anything you've ever eaten before. I have vivid memories of fresh bread, butter and coffee from France and tomato soup from Florence that have stuck with me more than any of the…
That almost makes up for that terrible gin and tonic story from a month ago.
I just found a bar here in DC that has the Pimm's on the menu. Spoiler alert: it was fucking delicious as always.
I realized I liked Hawkeye 100% better once I started reading all of his lines in Sterling Archer's voice. And I liked it a whole lot before that.
@TamoraQueenofGoths Wanna come over for dessert? I made pies! #notatricknoseriously
