Somehow I suspect they’re unconcerned. If anything the backlash against the Prius from people like Clarkson raises its profile. For the kind of people who care enough to buy the car, criticism from someone like Clarkson is either an indifference or somehow a badge of honor.

I think the focus should be on the horrible salesman who just missed a great chance to upsell to the most expensive trim level. That’s not a good question, he should just pounce, “Oh you definitely need the higher horsepower more expensive one. I would be dangerous to drive a car with only 423 horsepower.”

I’m an advertising creative director and I cringe every time I see such lazy copy. Copywriter and art director: If you don’t anything about cars, run your script by someone that does.

They’re in a Ford dealership. Clearly they’re concerned that 423 horsepower is insufficient to properly take out a crowd of people.
