Mazda hasn’t lost its soul, Mazda just doesn’t have enough money. That’s why I don’t understand why there are people out there who are pissed. If you know enough about their cars, then at least look up their current financial situation before you start complaining about the lack of other models and powertrain options.

Not sure why I hate Mercedes cars, but they’re not for me. I harbor the same feelings against VW.

I wholeheartedly agree. I want them to survive and think that this is a smart business decision.
