I joined the electronics biz in 1977, and soon purchased a Sony Betamax VCR. I joined the audio out line to my home stereo and Boom! Home theater sound! Shortly afterward I was lucky enough to acquire Sony 72" front projection TV! Big picture and big sound, even though it wasn’t yet stereo or surround sound.
