Saw a toddler hit recently in a walking path by a deranged biker. She asked his parents to apologize TO HER as he was gasping for air, with at least a few broken ribs and a concussion. Nuts.

Ran off the road a few years ago because I had the lovely choice of either hitting oncoming traffic (die) or hit a wobbling cyclist (kill) who was about to fall in front of my car. I will never forgive cyclists for this.

It’s illegal in my neighborhood but the cyclists who are too slow or who want to avoid a traffic stop hop on the sidewalk and disrupt both driving and walking traffic. This also applies to skateboarders who are TERRIBLE and would need an entire post of their own to be properly discussed. One almost hit me two days ago…

Agreed. Bikes scare me because they are so unpredictable. I am both a walker and a driver and I know exactly how MOST of those people will act. Cyclists cannot be understood. They follow mysterious rules that vary from cyclist to cyclist and it really freaks me out.

They are vehicles that don’t follow the laws of a vehicle. I watch them in my neighborhood hold up traffic because they are too slow, and then hop up on the sidewalk when traffic stops, only to screw up the people trying to walk without being run over. So annoying.

This. I would have no problem with cyclists if they just chose a set of rules to follow and followed them. And kept up with traffic. But the bad ones are so atrocious that it makes the whole group look bad!

And cars generally DO stop at lights and signs. Bicyclists do not. IMO, this is the most dangerous issue.

The bicyclists around my very metro area follow whatever rules they please. On the road like a vehicle, on the sidewalk like pedestrians.
