@Nivenus: I wasn't just being random — she did the voice of Samus in the Prime games (imdb doesn't lie!). It's just the only thing she ever had to say was "ungh" and "nnnh."

I hope they keep Jennifer Hale as Samus's voice... she was fantastic in Mass Effect, and it would be great to hear her do more than grunt her way into Samus's suit.

@JahB: I'm not mistaking anything for anything. The game, taken as a whole, had a great combination of presentation and solid gameplay, with enough new ideas to stand on its own as a legitimately enjoyable experience.

@Chris Morrison: I'm definitely a fan, so I can plead guilty there.

@BigMoose is a big moose: We'll have to agree to disagree. I think U2 did exactly what you just described, while Batman created a reasonably interesting mystery that shifted and changed as the game progressed.

I don't understand why Kotaku keeps hating on the Ghostbuster games (see 2009 In Review: The Disappointments).

@Hunter.Wolf: Just noting that the standards for character and plot writing are far lower in video games than in other storytelling media. The fact that "for a video game" needs to be appended to the statement implies diminished expectations, and that's sad.

@fanboyps3: I actually completely agree. That's why I think it's funny that they got a "writing" award, as opposed to just a general "amazing presentation" award.

@hurricanedj: Delivery and execution are matters of direction and acting — not writing.

Honestly? This really shows the state of an industry.

...says Sony, who released a PS3 with a blu-ray player that doesn't work with universal remotes.

@deanbmmv: fair enough - not looking to start a fight. I think I just misunderstood your post :)

@deanbmmv: Perhaps I'm misunderstanding your post... it seemed that you were disagreeing withPangolin. But then in your last sentence, you implicitly AGREED with him, but set your agreement off as some kind of exception, maintaining that he was incorrect.

@BryanH: You noticed that too?

@deanbmmv: you're countering your own point. The other Square games didn't do well on the 360, so MS is trying to position itself to make sure this one does. That's exactly the point of the advertising — to remind people that FF can now be played on something other than a Sony console, and to ensure that Square is

@Cop Toffee: Wow... their advertising strategy has been... advertisements?

Ahhh... someone stepped on the PS3 fanboy nest! Break out the Benadryl.

What gives, Owen? I'm not sure I'm getting this article's sense of humor... perhaps a well-known site for video game news shouldn't be suggesting — even in jest — that potential school shooters fly below radar. You make it sound like the would-be killer didn't deserve to be arrested.
