“In our hyper-connected capitalist world, especially right now, productivity in general—not just in Animal Crossing—can be performative. We equate productivity with worth and meaning because it’s what we’ve been primed to do.”

I don’t have any respect for any one who tell other people how to have fun and spend their own money either... but whatever.
I...don’t understand your stance here, honestly. This literally is only a talking point about this game because it’s a remake, it’s like saying that you shouldn’t buy Trails of Cold Steel because it’s part of a larger story. There’s a point to be made about the game not needing to be only Midgar, for sure, but…
Microsoft is masquerading their cost saving choice under the guise of liberation. Just include the xbox branded rechargable battery back and let people use that or their own AA batteries.
Play more consistently? I played 2 games of Valorant last night and can tell you I haven’t played a smoother running mutliplayer FPS in my life. That might change, but my first impressions are incredibly positive. Is the art a little lacking? Absolutely. But if you want any PC/player to be able to play your game, and…
This is just fake news. You obviously haven't played it, and writing a game off for having a cartoon aesthetic, what're you 13?
I think that’s a valid criticism, but it also seems to be exactly what the devs are going for. In terms of the Counterstrike meets Overwatch, rhetoric, the game leans heavily to the counter strike side. I’d go as far as to say, it is just counter-strike, with all the extra tools, re-skinned as magic.
And I think there…
i feel like there’s some sort of idiom about that
I’m into it. With 300+ hours a piece on CS:GO and Overwatch, plus a fan of magicy-ness with contemporary-ness (yeah I word good), I’m kinda excited even.
And when 80% of games aren’t even making $5000, that’s even worse.
To be fair, long time ago, it was mostly lots of big budget games competing vs one another - I’m talking pre-2013. I remember buying big publisher packs, dozens of games, for under $80 if not less. Then when proverbial gates were opened. So you could say that 2012 and 2013 was probably the best time for indies that…
It’s my absolute favorite. It’s like 70s Sesame Street.
5AM is amazing, and you were right to recognize it. It fits the hour perfectly and sounds great. It sounds like something is about to happen but for now the world is still dead.
I know a lot of people who like 5 PM even more, but I gotta say you're criminally underrating 10 AM. One of my favorites so far.
I've watched some of them, and yeah it seemed like everyone was just better written. Whoever was in charge of the translation for the game dropped the ball lol.
Watch Tim Roger’s “Let’s Mosey” series (if you haven’t already).
Maybe if he didn’t replace about 90k worth of tree bells with his eggs, I’d be more sympathetic...
This nailed it for me
Man, I hate the notion of “Selling out”. It’s a concept that has no purpose or meaning anymore to those who actually listen, like and consume music, especially in our current Soundcloud/Spotify era. These days, it’s just a poorly applied status dragged from an age where record sales actually drove the industry.
go for that PSX . . . force yourself to play every random battle, dude
