Tactics made me love Dragoons (even though Jump sucked in that game) so Freya was instantly a favorite of mine when I played FF9. Guess I gotta go play 4 now since they made a remake of it.

I think sometimes the dub trailers make it seem worse than it actually is. Maybe because the show eases you into it and a trailer kind of shoves it at you all at once. I'm not sure.

It's a lot easier with the control stick. Umbra can only move along shadows and some of them are quite small (the horns on Mion's head for example) so you might accidently move along one you didn't mean to which is probably why the pathing looks janky. Sometimes you might not think you can move the way you want…

The problem with the default controls is that they're too slow for what the game wants you to do half the time. They'd work if the timing of some puzzles weren't so demanding.
