To me, the twist of the angel not being her was great. I spent the last several weeks assuming it was her. Then they go and confirm my theory at the beginning of the episode. So I really did enjoy it when they pulled the rug out from under my smug ass...

Yeah - although, I would have wanted a mention of the temporal cold war by name. That storyline was wrapped up in ST:Enterprise a little TOO NEATLY and should not have been left dangling like it was.

Thank you! I’m so glad you mentioned the thing with Leland and the AI! The AI would obviously want the wormhole to be closed, too. Without it, the Red Angel is trapped. But it also needed an opportunity to continue evolving and taking Leland out and utilizing his ship gives it that opportunity. I'm excited to see how

The Discovery getting ready to engage the spore drive then splatting into the mycelial network might be my favorite special effect the show has done.

This!

Agree. And I like The Orville. But it’s a whole other show, with its own threads for comment.

As for the Internet, the people who like to jump into every comment section and talk about The Orville can go hang out in the same dumpster as the people who think they’re being edgy by calling it STD.

Now playing

Considering that Enterprise was called....Enterprise, and not Star Trek: Enterprise, and Voyager was called (yup, you guessed it) Voyager and not Star Trek: Voyager

I’m enjoying this series of STD

You know what?

Don’t you know, everything is political here now. “Io9: we come from negative space”

I like how JK just threw that term out there like WE’RE the assholes for not knowing what that means or being able to identify one from that 2 seconds of trailer.

Hell yeah. Bring in two choppers next time and then release like 5,000 plastic bags onto the street.  This string of bikers getting weirdly brutalized has me fully invested and partially engorged.

I think what fans take issue with is the tone of the criticism. If you aren’t interested in a puzzle box tv show with convoluted timelines, that’s fine. But there’s people who enjoy that stuff and working out clues. With how much content is being produced today, there’s no reason why we can’t all have our own niche

So you’re saying that you would have preferred if this movie had ended with Han’s character journey complete, effectively removing any growth he might have between SOLO and Star Wars?

1) That’s just silly.
2) That would negate the need for any sequels to this movie, wouldn’t it? That’s just bad business sense. This

Yeah, but they’re using it in the same sense that black people call each other the N-word; they’re “taking it back.” The term was meant to be derogatory.

“Yeah, when are Christians finally gonna get accepted in America?”

That has nothing to do with anything, its either disrespectful or its not, end of story.

Of course Christians aren’t persecuted in the U.S., but there’s also the “don’t be a dick” creed that more of us should live by. I like headlines that are witty, not designed to be shitty.

I’m not even a Christian and that headline still irks me. Mocking someone’s religion isn’t a great look.
