I think it’s a combination of Free Will and Empathy. Humans in many cases decide to be evil. That’s why watching Bruce or Sylvester or Arnold mow them down doesn’t affect us as much. But dogs are not, and can never be, evil.

Now playing

It should be noted in this article that Chris Thile was also a performer here, and is an incredible mandolinist. Also, Punch Brothers are SO GOOD.

Is that the frog thing from FutuALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD

Well it depends if those things are written in the Bible which we take by faith that it is the Word of God. My pastor made the comment a couple of months ago when he was preaching on Jonah, that if the Bible said that Jonah swallowed a whale, he would have believed it. (I told him after service that I found the idea

Avasarala is so lovely, her blatant honesty is so refreshing - and if sometimes someone has to call someone else names just to get the point across, well, that’s how the cookie crumbles. And if someone is annoyed by that, fuck them :)

P.S. We ‘ve both read Persepolis Rising. What do you think of how the things are

Spoilers

I obviously haven’t seen the film yet, but based on the glimpse of it in the trailers, that’s really not the description I’d go with.

What, a snail?

The pure wrath in this post is like heroin to me

[smash cut to explosion of Death Star II from Return of the Jedi]

I hope episode IX includes a scene in which Poe turns directly into the camera, says “this is canon, deal with it you fucking nerds”, then there’s a 12 minute long sequence of him spitshining Finn’s hog.

But he’s a bad perrrrrrssssoooooonnnnn and I’m a vicccccttttiiiiiimmmm

And this is why people were fools for not defending Damore, even if they disagreed with him. Expressing opinions that someone will take offense to, will now get you fired. And there is always someone there to take offense.

Every time those damn wolves are on the screen it feels like Filoni is just trying to buy time in an episode. The scenes last forever and they make absolutely no sense and do nothing but give Ezra a vague momentum.

Yeah there was a loss of momentum there. It was pretty dark, with torture in death in the first one, then the second one was about loss they kinda added in lighter moments and most of the episode dragged.

They just love to hate this show. It can’t do anything right in their eyes. It had a lot to say and I think it said it.

Nah, I thought this season was awesome. And I think it’s pretty weird that this site lambasted Discovery for weeks about how ~untrue to Federation ideals its ethos was, and is now critiquing it for staying too true to Federation ideals.

Nicely said.

Glad to have met you. Shore Leave is one of my favorite conventions. I’m looking forward to going back to it this summer.

My take (well, one of them): If you approach DISCO from an adversarial position, scowling at the screen with your arms crossed atop your chest, ever on look-out for “canon violations” or whatever,

I interpreted the brain-surgery scene differently. I thought she eradicated all trace of Voq’s memories, hence the Klingon death-howl for her lost comrade..
