Brother, the article itself is full of spoilers for the book, why did you even read it if you wanted to go in spoiler free?

No minorities are safe from caricature-like stereo-types in his novels. A statement I expand to include the white religious types found in "Under the Dome."

It seemed like an obvious play (and a homage) to the Richie character in "It" as this was one of his voices, he also eludes to Pennywise in the beginning of the novel. He does this a lot on his later books, and at first I thought it was cute, but when he went so far as to write himself into his own novel I felt that

I knew the Janey was dead-meat the minute she slept with Hodge. King has a long history of setting up the female love interest and horribly maiming them or bumping them off. I found the story fairly predictable, one of his "cookie-cutter" novels. It was an entertaining read though, even if not one of King's best.
