“Unprecedented” is the right word.
Because we’re not fully isolated, and that’s not how infectious diseases work. People are still doing necessary tasks like going to the grocery store, and some people are still at work a because we need them to be. Just because current measures aren’t doing everything doesn’t mean they’re doing nothing.
Right on. Another safety variation on the bench is to use dumbbells, if you have them. Easier to fail safely out of a dumbbell lift than a barbell lift.
1) Bigger seats. It wouldn’t matter where I sit on a plane or when I boarded if I knew I could physically fit into any seat. I’m not above flying coach, but my legs are just too long these days. A few inches matters.
Fun test for the racists out there: if you get COVID-19 and the only doctor available to treat you is black, do you let yourself die to protect white supremacy? Discuss!
Is there really a law that says that people must refer to cops as Sir or Sergeant?
The sad and frustrating thing is that none of this matters. How many times has this administration said something or not said something and flatly denied it in spite of a flood plain of video evidence? A few dozen? A few hundred? What’s different about this time?

Good advice. “Self quarantine” and “social distancing” aren’t necessarily the same as “stay home” or “stay indoors” in this case. It’s less about where you are and more about not being were lots of people are, or where lots of people have touched stuff.
Ben would have been perfectly fine, maybe even interesting, as Batman with a more competent script and filmmaker. The cast wasn’t the main problem with those films. Rarely is on these kinds of movies full of A-listers.
I’m the sort that won’t allow so much as a smart speaker in my house, but I tend to not get bent out of shape about outdoor cameras. Not saying they’re my favorite, but if I’m in public I assume someone can see me doing whatever I’m doing.
This was my favorite little meme/trope of the last week — people thinking they can get to 60% alcohol by starting with 40% alcohol and adding not-alcohol to it.
If you’re not 16 or a recent transplant to a rural area, but you need a primer on when to use your high beams, the only thing you need to know how to do is turn them off when you accidentally turn them on. They are not “better,” and they are not preventative. They are a specific tool for a specific situation.
Last time I’d go to that shop. If I happen to have an earbud in — usually because I don’t need one more thing in my hands at the moment — but I’m clearly engaged and interacting with you normally, then the hangup is yours and you are the problem.
Yes, yes yes! A corollary is helping them understand that it’s OK to not get it exactly right the first time, or that mistakes are negative.
That’s true. Diet is mostly notable for its ability to negatively impact performance. The negative impact of bad nutrition is much larger than the positive impact of incrementally better, but already solid, nutrition. But people have stuff to sell, so here we are.
