I am seeing a fair number of Ioniq5's and EV6's. But of course, it’s been on sale for less than a year, so the annual numbers are probably still low.

I have seen both a Polestar and a Lucid Air driving around my San Diego county neighborhood, so I wonder when they were registered. Possibly early 2023, I suppose, because it was recently.

I see them often too but you’re probably just seeing the same ones over and over again. According to the state’s Energy Commission on 3,392 Polestar 2s were registered in California in 2022. They don’t sell many.

This can’t be right... I live in CA and see Polestars frequently. My neighbor bought one in 2022...

My 993 is worth more than a new car, and I happily paid a little more so I can can listen to my music and sort through my songs without having to pick up my phone. It’s nice to be able to take a roadtrip and have a GPS that isn’t suction cupped to my windshield.

Eat shit.

I’m not going to tell someone what to do with their vehicle. If they prefer a certain approach, and that approach includes a touch screen, have at it.

The surprising number in there for me is that Lexus outsold Audi by almost 100k vehicles. I guess people don’t mind the front end afterall.

The only thing luxurious about a Tesla is the price.

The word bespoke has evolved from a verb meaning “to speak for something” to its contemporary usage as an adjective that has changed from describing first tailor-made suits and shoes, and later, anything commissioned to a particular specification, and finally to a general marketing and branding concept implying

car = I can get in and go wherever I want, whenever I want. I’m in control. I can talk to myself in peace, practicing arguments that I may have one day, or replaying things that I should have said. I can listen to whatever music I want to, or talk on my (hands free) phone without worry.

Spend $20k more to save $500 a year. I am all for an EV when they don’t cost $35k for a Honda Fit sized car... Looking at you Chevy Bolt.

Cool, we’ve moved on to attacking my credentials to refute my opinions. Just for the record, I’m a registered Traffic Engineer with the State of California, which requires separate licensure of my Civil Enigneering license with the State of California. But I digress.

Yeah, I stopped reading when the writer compared asking “if a helmet was worn” to “what a rape victim is wearing”. That’s a big stretch and not remotely the same thing.

I’m just going to leave this here but:

Might be one of the most ridiculous takes I’ve seen. It doesn’t matter who is at fault if the helmet has the ability to protect you from death.

Of course not - they were out of power.

If there is efficient and free public transportation to move around the city center, this will catch on. Which means it won’t come to the US.

Right, because nothing makes me feel at home in my $75,000 track toy like the interior from a compact economy car.

does it help that it was from natural, age related causes and not him getting hit by a moped on pit lane?

I mean, I’m pretty sure that’s how a limo service can work, if you request it.
