Mine is definitely getting hot. I say 'hot' instead of 'warm' because warm implies that it's tolerable. It's not so hot that I can't hold it, but it's uncomfortable. I found that turning down the brightness to 75% reduces the heat that same amount. Setting it to 50% removes the heat to an almost imperceptible amount,

This has been my dream for years. A heads up display through somewhat normal looking glasses. I always imagined that navigation would occur through eye movement, though; not weird head tilting. I also always imagined it would be from Apple and named "iGlasses."

It depends on the wifi connection. For movies it's great, for games it can be good, but even when at its best there's a lag. I hear that Bluetooth is in the works, but I've never seen video over Bluetooth to know its speed. Regardless, it would fix the lag and choppy issues you've been seeing.

"Otherwise I can't understand why this has happened."

Oh wow - WOW. I'm overwhelmed by the site of the image. I can actually say that Donkey was the first game I ever showed off repeatedly to friends. I knew at the time that it wasn't all that attractive, but the mere idea that it was a game on a computer, instead of an Atari or Colecovision, was an oddity!

Yeah - there's something going on there. I don't think it's her arm and hand (I think it's a her), but a combination of her partially covered arm (which is why it looks so thin), and someone else's hand that just happened to be reaching in there. The two just blend together.

I think you misunderstood what I meant. The article initially appears to attack Apple for their actions against HTC, then changes to the view that the patent system is broken, which is really the issue behind all of this. What I was saying is that Apple isn't doing anything in this regard that any other company

"The patent system is broken."

Very well said — especially the mention of selection bias. Your reality is refreshing.

On any level, do you think the hawk thinks to himself, "Holy crap, I'm moving through the air, but I'm not moving my wings!" How many (living) hawks in history have moved through the air without their own efforts and been aware of that fact? I'd like to think that at least one must have had a small thought in this

I'm gonna go out on a limb, and I have to say: I hand it to you, that you are clearly from the funny arm of the Gizmodo forum posters. You really have a leg up on the others. And...

If I could be outfitted with a limb that offers no less feeling or mobility, and adds more functionality, then I would gladly give up that limb; assuming I could afford it.

You will need a computer to download iOS 5, but from there on out it should be an over-the-air update. This will be true for all new iPhones.

It's my understanding that the microphone on the iPhone 4S was upgraded, making a better Siri experience. As the iPhone 4 and iPad 2 don't have that microphone, then they won't deliver the experience that Apple ultimately wants.

If they committed a crime, then they obviously have the money to cover the penalty, but the loss of goodwill is a hefty fine, too. I think they would take that into consideration. I personally don't think they're ignorant enough to do as is alleged. I'm skeptical.

A. Apple's not stupid.

I wouldn't call La Grange a small town. It's essentially Louisville, which has a "consolidated" population of 741,096 (that includes rural and city). That's like calling a suburb outside of Chicago a "small town." In fact, if you live in La Grange, and were on vacation, you'll likely just say you're from Louisville.

I want to put this on record as a Mac user: The instructions given here by McDonalds for connecting to the wireless network on a Windows PC are ridiculous. It's just as many steps as on a Mac. You're basically telling both OSes to look for a wireless network, connect to it and go through whatever security is required.

I've been taking a chill pill since the whole Android vs. Apple thing started. I've just hit my boiling point. I don't want to hangout at Android-only or Apple-only forums just to avoid the bickering. I want to hangout at Gizmodo. I'm all for disagreements and different points-of-view, but at least do it in good

The single word comments in this thread like "No," "Pass," and "Nope," are irritating. Engadget is just as rife. They're irritating not because they disagree with my choice of hardware or software, but because they go tolerated by everyone, especially the moderators. Some of these comments are coming from starred
