On an Android unit, create a shortcut to call your own phone using Google voice. Place icon on home screen and then just push it to receive your own fake call. Or maybe it would be easier to make an app that simply causes your ring state to function.

Reading through the comments, there is understanding, empathy, and a few other things, but I did not see any comments about counseling. Yes he was afraid of it, but really any counselling at all would have helped. A lot.
