There are still hard buttons and knobs for the HVAC and proximity sensors. Not having a backup cam, nav, or radio for a few days until they push out the fix isn’t going to kill you.

I am actually still mystified that people pay extra for nav considering the fact that just about everyone already has it on their phone.

Yeah if it were not in a movie that Mustang would have never caught a Magnum 440 in a Charger R/T. Maybe if it were a 383

Because its a Dodge and this is Jalopnik

Oh fuck off, this is more ridiculous than the claim that CO2 kills people.

This will be unpopular here, but the bonuses FCA and GM are giving to their workers are due to the recent tax deal that lets the companies keep more of their money. Because, despite how some people try to characterize them, tax cuts are not giving anybody any money, they are letting them keep more of what they earn.

The recall will be a software update and cost them little. The only thing FCA did was not disclose that they used certain allowed engine protection methods in their emissions software.
Despite the hate for FCA on Jalopnik, this is not nearly the same as what VW did, and consequently neither will the penalties be.

Considering the fact that pickup tucks were behind only crossovers in 2017 for vehicle sales I’d say their main demographic is pretty much everybody.

You never had a choice between coils or leafs. All 1500s since the 2009 MY have had coil rear, or had the option of air suspension beginning in 2013. Air suspension adds weight, and so reduces payload compared to the coil sprung trucks (which still haul up to 1900 lbs).

There are a lot of people here who hate FCA despite having never owned one of their cars. Maybe they drove a rental or bought a used one that had problems.

The “it has a Toyota badge so its automatically the most reliable in segment” crowd.

7700? The Current 1500s tow over 10,000 lbs (depending on options just like every other truck)

2011 was the first year it was “Ram,” but 2013 was the first year they didn’t say “Dodge” anywhere on them.

The eTorque system is an interesting way of beefing up the low end of the torque curve, basically adding +130 lb-ft to the Hemi’s current output right off idle. Fat low end torque is the main advantage of the turbo engines in the F series trucks, so it will be interesting to see how they compare.

Its more electronics,

I agree, and they are bad for engine longevity as well

What was it though? Was it some sort of brine that would have eaten your car even faster than road salt? I think on El Caminos it would have been even easier to change the cans

A lot of people feel that way, that’s why rusted out 12 valves still sell for $18k

You honestly think Tesla is a more profitable company than FCA? Tesla isn’t even viable without government subsidies and tax credits to incentivize their car sales

That’s because the EcoBoost has 120 more horsepower and the same torque. On the other hand, the EcoDiesel gets better mileage than an EcoBoost-especially comparing unloaded trucks, but also when towing an equal load

Not to be too much of a pedant, but the VM in the Ram 1500 is the L630, not the A630

The original Neons were great cars and were probably the high point for Chrysler’s ability to compete with import compacts like the Corolla and Civic.

I believe the Pinto was named after the bean
