What I’ve been surprised at these last few years is seeing how thin the veneer was that covered so many white peoples hatred and fear of the “other”. Then again, I’m white.

My mother used to hide food from my unable to control himself step-father. When she died, I found chocolate, nuts and dried fruit hidden in many places. 

I’ve been married 30 years. Last year we downsized from a multi-story house to a 1000 sq ft single story. I miss the separation big time.

Every year the business I worked for had to pay property tax to the county for tangible property. I had to have an inventory of everything we owned in order to calculate this.  I would have inventory tags on all computers & furniture. Unless someone peeled off the tag, I could identify an expensive chair such as this…

I’m old, but wouldn’t the default today be, don’t take any photos that would bother you if they are out in public.  Digital stuff gets out. In the old days a Polaroid was safe but now someone can just snap a picture of an old photo and out it goes into the world.
