I have a special loathing in my heart for Pete Buttigieg. I just dislike him on instinctual level. He’s every teachers pet. He’s every gradegrubber. He’s every shithead son of the manager who Thinks he’s in charge of you.

I want to marry that dish in that photo.

The real reason for flying boats was the fixed pitch prop. Prior to adjustable pitch props you had either a climb or cruise prop, if you wanted to be able to cruise at altitude at a decent speed and at a low cruise RPM you needed a flat pitch prop. This was the equivalent of fifth gear in a car and just like top gear

I actually care not how we lost the Flying Boats today. I care about the missions they are uniquely suited to perform over other methods. In Search And Rescue situations (SAR) time is of the essence. The Russian’s Beriev Be-200 Altair is an outstanding water-bomber for fighting fires, and can get to a location at sea

Best part of this thread is all the Tesla fans who are proving yet again that they are incredibly thinned skinned about even the slightest critique of their cars

Because when the temperature drops below about -10°F the push button activated locks start acting stupid. Half of the time it won’t unlock, forcing me to walk to the other side and push it open from the inside, and the other half of the time it won’t lock but thinks it has.

You’re asking the wrong question. You should be asking why people leave cash and credit cards inside of a car that they are not presently occupying. Most times they won’t even take cupholder change, they want easy and quick and obvious.

Because my locks are old and I’ve broken a key off in the lock before. But I don’t keep valuables inside.

Yes, but they don’t cause you to lose so much water that you’re at a net loss.

I wouldn’t use it without a case, you could easily short something on the board, or knock off a part, or you might discharge ESD directly into a part on the board. Not to mention the edges of a PCB board aren’t really that comfortable to hold.

I love the idea. I do not love the low resolution and the fact that it looks like an uncompleted Heathkit. I think this needs more time in the oven.

I like salmon, but i season the hell out of it. put a flavor crust on that puppy. Dump some cajun seasoning on it. Go wild. Its like chicken, the flavor on its own isn’t particularly notable, but it adopts the flavor of whatever you cook it with.

But if it were real, it would be spectacular.

Certain parts of the salmon can be fishy, especially if you get some of the bloodline (that section of really dark-colored meat)

The fact that I’ve never heard of an app called Line, and that I’m the one in my family who “knows about that stuff”, implies that if I switch to that other app, I will have a lot of fun talking to no one I would ever be interested in talking to.

13 pups might be a tiny sample size, but if the behavior has expressed itself, then it is highly likely to simply exist, independent of human co-evolutionary pressures. What it cannot say is what proportion of the wolf population expresses it, because the sample size is just too small to adequately gauge it.

A) instant pot will change your relationship with beans. 1 hour start to finish - game changer in my kitchen.

Yeah. For a while there I was happy to go legit and pay for what people make, but the pendulum has swung too far to the other side. Just like I shouldn’t have to pay $400 dollars a month for 900 channels of stuff I don’t watch I also don’t want to pay $5-$20 a month for each of the one show on each that has ten

me either, thankfully there are always torrents (nope i dont care about pirating it, especially from apple)
