as someone with almost 10k miles on snogos in the past 5 years, “easily” putting 100 miles on a sled in a morning session is absolute bullshit.

the day they release it in a hybrid with AWD i’m going down to my ford dealership and telling them i want one - a person who has never bought a vehicle from a dealership

Ive had a G7 and G8 and they have been exceptional phones - with atrocious cameras

CDC is not recommending he be tested at this point.

i inherited one at work - 2007 with 7500 miles on it.  Love that thing for highway cruisin with a bunch of field gear in the back.

i fucking wish we had mandatory winter tire season in alaska.  so many people who brag about “being able to get by just fine with all seasons” until they run into the back of you or end up in the ditch.

in alaska we drive on solid ice from october to march (except when it snows and we get a few days of good traction).  we’re gonna continue to use studs and drive 60mph thank you.

theres way more than 3 kinds of studless winter tire....

we always had “black eyed peas and stewed tomatoes” never “hoppin john”.

my wifes favorite salmon recipe calls for putting mayo (among other things) on top of the salmon

Alaskam here - pinks get fed to the dogs. Dont have an opportunity to fish for coho. Sockeye are my bread and butter, Chinook are great but not super common where I fish.

Yea, I’ve had a hard enough time with Signal.  To be fair, almost everyone I know uses imessage.  I dont know a single person that uses whatsapp though; but thats probably because I dont have whatsapp.

I agree - having the foresight to domesticate a species seems unlikely, but so too does a single domestication event.

i think wolves habituated themselves - hanging out around encampments to pick up scraps. but i agree, why would it have been tolerated? did wolves recognize the potential for a mutually beneficial relationship and give us those sweet puppy eyes so they could gnaw on a mammoth bone?  did humans realize that the

ive never been one to soak beans and also never gotten the dreaded gas - i hear if you eat them a lot (as i do) this goes away.  HOWEVER - adding a strip of dried Kombu seaweed also does a great job of helping! of course, YMMV.

A) instant pot will change your relationship with beans. 1 hour start to finish - game changer in my kitchen.
