Are we still doing phrasing?

You win and I saw someone die on a plane once.

or binocular, or bipedal ... Bi means 2. but hey, words and their meaning evolve. It just counterintuitive for “bi-whatever” to mean anything but “2-whatever” but it wouldn’t be the first time a word’s definition doesn’t match its roots.

Entrée is a little plate you eat first to open up your appetite. Not the main

While DA or even Jane Austen films are not my favorite period dramas, to which I am addicted, they are not meant to be compared to how life really is for the majority of the population...they represent a certain segment of a past society, one that is basically a fairy tale at best, a Dickens nightmare at worst. But

People are complex. His homophobia is a bad thing, but his being in a horrific accident is also a bad thing. People don't get what they "deserve." The two things are independent of one another. They both happened. Let's not assign narrative intent to the universe just because we like to feel vindicated. Bad things

I don’t know what to make of that HRC tweet. But if it’s an indication she’s going to run for President again... I don’t know, man. I might just walk out into the Pacific Ocean and let the sweet embrace of death take me.

A note to all of the “I don’t tip because it’s a broken system, and it won’t get fixed until we stop playing along” types:

Which of course meant they became taxed.”

You realize that it’s supposed to be reported and taxed, right?  Not doing so is actually a federal crime (if you’re caught)

Do not do this.

My first husband’s family had a Siamese who was a holy horror. One day she had, unbeknownst to my MIL, crawled into the dryer atop a load of stuff waiting to be dried. MIL threw another load in, shut the door, and turned on the dryer. Some time later, she heard “thump, thump, thump” from there and knowing that she hadn

What are the odds that this tweet is how she found out she was fired?

I’d say my husband for his part thinks he is an equal partner but he does not see the mental load at all. He also would be fine with our kids never being in an extra curricular, never going to a playdate or having a friend outside of our walls, not having gifts for birthdays/holidays, and no parties for anything, and

It wasn’t arbitrary at all.

Early in the books she’s referred to as Arya Underfoot because she was always getting in the way where no one expected her to be. In the series, she’s always ‘off somewhere no one expects her to be’—like when the King arrives in the pilot or when Jon comes home in the first episode this year. In fact, one of the

She grew up in the castle, and Maester Llewyn told Theon about secret passages.  There is most certainly a way from inside the Great Keep (where I think she is) to the Godswood that isn’t out in the open.  And you see the White Walker’s hair move (as if by the wind) right before she attacks.  My guess is she somehow

One of my takeaways: The same bits of the internet who misuse the term “plot hole” are seriously misusing the term “deus ex machina”.

This online outcry is bullshit. The “biggest fans” aren’t turning against it. The online community hivemind is throwing a fit as usual. Outside the internet echo chamber, plenty of people are just shrugging off the game’s growing pains and are happy to be out playing pokemon with other people.

I guess I’m in the minority then. I’ve loved going for walks after work everyday and just catching what I catch. Even if I get nothing good, I went for a walk in the evening - to me, that’s worth the time spent.

Not what I was expecting from the title, but a great read. I thought I was going to get a bunch of entertaining horror stories about how it rained the whole cruise, one of your kids puked 10 times, a friend and their spouse fought, etc., not a view on the meaning of life as seen through a disney cruise.

So in your world, if I decide you have to refer to me by the pronoun tdggfghc, you’re required refer to me by the pronoun tdggfghc or else you’re hillbillyphobic.
