100% agree. At that price the only $40,000 of mods I would care about would be directly performance related mods, not color changing wheels and the ability to scrape my front splitter every ten seconds.

Imagine if the safety features gave a little beep 2 seconds in advance of them doing something stupid and you could calmly tap a button on the steering wheel saying 'hey, don't worry, I've got it's and the car would just let you do your thing...
I doubt at that point that anyone would actually own their own car though. Maybe it would be a thing for the corporate monoliths controlling ground transportation, however.
