Having had quite a bit of experience tutoring seniors in the use of technology over the past two years, I can definitely say that teaching older people how to use tech like video games is challenging but rewarding. You have to condition your brain to deconstruct everything you know on the subject, recognizing just how

There’s a ton of muscle memory built up in just operating a controller that you just don’t think about. In a lot of respects it’s comparable to driving a car. It’s easy to forget that it’s so natural to a lot of people because they’ve been doing it since they were kids. Not to mention in addition to the muscle memory

It’s one of those things where its really easy to go “lol boomers,” but there’s a lot that I kinda take for granted as a life-long *tries not to vomit* “gamer.”

There are things that I can do and react to in split seconds, because I’m so used to playing games. A game like TLOU2 specifically requires that level of

Update is already out!”

Egg noodles and tuna.

Half-assed tuna melts. $1 tuna packs x5, pack of bulkie rolls ($2.50), some cheese ($2.50), a condiment (free or minimal cost), and a toaster = lunch for a work week, for under the cost of half a sandwich in Boston, packed with protein.

Echoing the dried beans and lentils answers, and cabbage was a cheap and sturdy veggie. I remember eating lots of the Manishewitz dried soup mixes that come in a cellophane tube - a dollar and some water made multiple meals. Back in my poverty days, I was amazed at how much less expensive frozen veggies were than

Mac and cheese, ground beef, peas.

Eggs, right? Lately, I’ve been buying them around twenty cents per, and that plus some fill like rice, toast, or frying a diced potato can be satisfying.

Brown rice and lentils will keep you alive for eons. If you have a cupboard full of spices to make it taste like anything other than brown rice and lentils, so much the better.

For a while it was rice and a couple of fried eggs, that got me through a chunk of my poor 20s and occasionally have it for dinner in my less poor 30s.  Any eggs really, cheap and hard to get bored of.

Smash Bros Ultimate was never going to be the final Smash Bros game, but I feel like it should be the end of this Smash Bros series, if that makes sense. Like, “everyone is here” is great but that only works if you don’t add more people in the next one.

Point well taken but a TEAM of engineers couldn’t have salvaged the construction, and besides, they said it didn’t even taste good! I mean it’s such an asshole—er, uh, um, I mean-- HASSLE when things go so very bad. I would probably had tried to help but engineering talents would be useless—Jesus on a double espresso

I’m guessing men are watching more porn because porn has gotten a lot easier to access and are playing more video games because video games have gotten a lot better. One of the best things about being a politician has to be the ability to say things that make no sense at all and have people take you seriously. Best

I’m just glad they explicitly stated that it’s the end, one of the things that most bothered me about the very small seasonal updates was not knowing if I should hold out hope that anything more substantial would be added

Giuseppe and Jurgen were right to stay away. Chigs was already helping and  two more sets of hands wouldn’t have added anything but confusion to Amanda’s battle with her terrine.

I know the double entendres were crazy this episode, but can we put them aside to talk about Paul translating Lizzy for the rest of them? I absolutely loved that moment. Paul annoys the crap out of me regularly, but that was worth keeping him around.

Why would you assume just the men should swoop in and save that trashbin of a terrine? Anyone could be the swooper and one person did swoop. It was doomed. Amanda was just hanging on, I liked her too but she was always mid to bottom with her bakes. Also—one person helping is enough, you get two or three and it gets

This is probably favourite episode of the last two seasons. Maybe three. Lizzie is rightfully terrified of the deep fryer! I don’t understand her but I deeply relate to her.

Watched this over lunch.  It was pretty funny watching Matt and Paul trying to hold it in as Prue goes on about her holes, they truly reverted to 12 year olds this episode.  Paul can’t even mention Guiseppe’s meat without losing it later on.
