OK, fine. Be anti choice. I might even go along with it as long as you promote the following (play along with me now):
1. Mandatory science and fact based sex education, beginning by second grade. No exceptions on any grounds, even if you home school your kids.
2. Free birth control for all, no questions asked.
What do

We have the freedom to choose what we read and watch, but we also have the ability to speak out against hate and oppression. People have no obligation to be silent about hate speech. Netflix has no obligation to air hate speech. Nobody has to suffer bigotry in silence.

I had never heard the term ‘clapter’ before and it’s just a perfect description for that form of comedy I despise. My classically republican father loves Dennis Miller, and out of curiosity I watched a recent special on Amazon and thats pretty much all it was.

YEP. Punching down absolutely *can* work, but it’s a narrow needle to thread, and it can’t be the anchor of the set (IMO).

What if a comedian isn't funny at all and just spouts hateful shit that aren't actually jokes?

maybe just leave trans jokes to trans people, who have actual insight into their lived experience. stick in your lane and mine your comedy from your own life because that’s a lot funnier than some shit like Chapelle is spewing. Which isn’t even comedy, it’s just him with a lot of resentment.

nah, these weren’t even jokes. they were just lazy attempts to justify his issues with outrage culture by doubling down on his transphobia. there wasn’t some amazing insight, and this is a netflix special, not some material he was testing.

he didn’t even make any jokes. he just went full transphobic.

just pull it, he’s a huge influence on people, this just gives people the green light to be transphobic and claim “they’re just joking”. It’s netflix, it’s a company, it’s not some freedom of speech issue, they can pull it. I don’t know if people realize the level of self harm this will ripple through the queer communi

Chappell is making political statement. Sniveling about how they are just stupid jokes makes no sense.

Ah thanks.  I'm happy and it feels right.  Grief is inevitable but temporary when it comes to dealing with bigots like Chappelle.

Some people are for justice on a deep, philosophical level, and some people just had the bad luck to be born into a group that got the short end of the societal stick. Chappelle is quickly revealing himself to be someone who, had he been born white, would absolutely be whining about taking “our” country back.

Congrats by the way for coming out!

Considering this incredibly rich man came back from his self-imposed exile by telling us to give Trump a chance because it might be good for his money, before launching into a series of comedy specials in which he routinely doubled down on some dumb and hateful shit against minorities (because he was convinced he was

Oh Jesus Christ.  As someone who has struggled with gender identity and after this year identity as a woman this is goddamn miserable.  I live in the same state Chappelle calls home and people loooooove him here.  Siding with JK Rowling is a rather quick and easy way to out yourself as an asshole.

People go on about touchy-feely liberal clapter, but it’s always the edgy anti-PC crowd who give these tedious, preachy speeches. It’s the same kind of persecution complex that made late-period Lenny Bruce and Bill Hicks so exhausting.

“Cancel Culture” money is big money. There’s a huge profit motive for celebrities with 0 shame or incapable of handling criticism shout “Cancel Culture” and whine when they are even lightly criticized for being an asshole. People flock to the content in question, discourse is had, and in the end the celebrity’s

Light novel titles fill me with such an overwhelming rage. It isn’t the 1840's, come up with an actual title for your god damn work, don’t write a synopsis and call it a day.

The German physicist won the technical round, the Italian engineer came in second, and I will be cutting and pasting this sentence into every recap for the next eight weeks.

To me, he’s Richmond.
