I guess I need to use the sArcASm TexT because my snark was apparently not obvious enough.

“uppity players” was snark my dude, I’m here for player groups/unions getting theirs

I haven’t kept up with League esports in ages but this shit is hilarious to me, especially since I’ve been wondering when these player groups/”unions” might start butting heads with the folks that make their game.

‘member that time Eurogamer had the unmitigated fucking gall to give Uncharted 3 an 8/10 score and their comments section went nuclear? And the reviewer was on the receiving end of countless death threats?

Yeah, that was a great piece. And especially in light of, “Announcing hype new game with a teaser trailer showing functionally nothing.” that were those videos. Sure you can glean a few details but like...bro why should I care that much about your game to expend the effort?

Prepare for what, crying victim because a few gaming news outlets might say critical things about MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR BRAND that a bunch of gamers take personally for some stupid reason? I will never understand these people.

I’m glad some folks are hype, but I cannot find the appeal outside of slickly produced teaser trailer that’s just setting vibes for an extraction shooter.

I do love folks finding ways to be preemptively outraged and/or offended.

That doesn’t mean that it wasn’t playtested. I guarantee every single issue players are encountering has been extensively reported on by QA testers throughout the process, with many of these issues likely being in reports for months, if not nearly a year.

We/they need to start forcing studio leadership to do these apologies on video. This whole form letter approach is boring as fuck and is happening too much.

Now playing

Basically the not-so-subtle “Ultra-capitalists are kinda awful” race of Star Trek starting in the 90's. They eventually went more in depth with the race and created some redeeming characters and all, but the big things to know is they’re as purely capitalist as you can get and also extremely misogynistic.

Good job, Gaijin! Now you’ve also taught your userbase that, “If you review bomb us on steam we’ll give you what you want.”, or at least that’s the lesson they’ll take from it.

Typically when I am pitched by a female

I wonder if this is the start of their new weekly podcast, because it doesn’t sound like they discussed anything remotely relevant to a presidential announcement. At least outside the weird fuckin reality bubble Republicans seem to exist in.

What’s wild is how many of these layoffs and poorly performing titles can largely be traced back to terrible, awful, no good management decisions.

Directly, no. But usually they have more desirable/popular titles available as the free weekly offering(s) when there’s a sale or other big event on the storefront.

What the fuck did they think it was, then? I get it, the concept of live-service games wasn’t as clearly defined back then and all but literally it checks off all the boxes.

OW2 is F2P, it’s free. You get perks for having purchased OW1 and all, but those don’t change the fact that there’s literally no required initial purchase for anyone to play OW2. Yes, OW1 is dead. No, that doesn’t mean OW2 cost those folks the box price of OW1.

Yes...and? They sold an optional pack with cosmetics and currency and early access. It doesn’t make the game any less F2P, and they sold nothing that was for the PvE portion of the game.

So...they didn’t decide late last year to shift efforts towards PvP and the story PvE missions and abandon the broader PvP plans like Aaron literally wrote?
