I don’t claim to know everything but yeah, considering I’ve worked on (in a non-development capacity) a few MMO’s that over total production cycles that nearly approaches a decade, I’ve got an inkling.

And when it did launch, it was pretty good!...but also pretty darned incomplete and missing some key features. Which is more indicative of development problems overall than the team just needing more time due to the pandemic and WFH.

I have no doubts leadership in 343 isn’t exactly the best in the world, but much of what I’m reading from former devs who worked on Halo Infinite is that problems were primarily from Microsoft.

I have little problem placing the overwhelming majority of the blame for the current sorry state of Xbox on Phil Spencer. He had all last-gen to right the ship and make sure that Microsoft didn’t repeat the mistakes of the Xbox One, but so far he’s seeming little different than Don Mattrick. Just more likeable if you

I mean, there’s middle grounds. 2042's problems were...uh...expansive. In addition to ripping out much of the core of BF to try to turn it into a hero-shooter, the game was just bad. It was deeply unfinished, filled with really, really, really bad design decisions, and generally dreadful. Like, it was just a bad game,

Now playing

but as someone whose favourite Specialist (Mackay)

I’m actually kinda sad the CTO or whatever sorry loser was put in charge of pretending that it was actually a “Very Good Idea” isn’t out there delivering top quality laughs by trying to continue to convince the internet and their own employees that not only was this a “Very Good Idea” but that also it was “Very

I try not to get shitty towards devs but I’m gonna get shitty for a second...

I just want some simplicity again. I get it, deep systems are great, but the problem is that there’s been a push towards more “expansive” systems rather than deep systems. Like having a dozen different currencies for different things that just draws out the grind and gives an illusion of more depth than actually

I’m just waiting for the board to finally realize that Yves has turned Ubisoft into a directionless dumpster fire while also making it an unattractive place to work for talented employees, and dump his ass.

This is impressive in how brazen it is more than anything else, because there’s not much that’s remotely well planned out or subtle about this.

Not quite as bad as some smaller Japanese MMO that straight up had to shutter the game after an update somehow corrupted the game data and all their backups failed, but for a AAA dev/publisher this is an utter disaster.

I feel bad for sports gamers in general, especially the bigger licensed leagues/sports (no clue how good that lacrosse game is or whatever).

Who on earth would make fun of an entity of pure fucking energy? I wish I could do everything (or anything) in life with as much zest and panache at flute boss.

Honestly, I’m infinitely more interested in how Amazon might approach a property like 40K given all the...let’s say eccentricities of the universe and Amazon’s largely risk-averse nature.

Flute boss was one of the absolute highlights. Dude just TOOTED AWAY LIKE A MADMAN, trading flute after flute. Absolute pure energy the entire performance, what a delight.

I’m fairly terminally online, but I barely understood half of what you wrote.

Wow, it’s almost like management at ATVI have learned basically nothing over the past few years of exposes and lawsuits?

At least they offered to pay! You know, instead of Elon offering the devs of Her Story the privilege of putting their game into Tesla’s...for free. Erm, for “exposure” rofl.
