I’m not saying this looks like a bad patch. It does genuinely look like a good patch that will improve the game quite a bit.

This is about the peak for these sad Nazi fucks - trolling a videogame.
I want to believe that they’ll achieve this...but given that the only studios that largely seem to have accomplished this lately are under Sony, and that CDPR’s overall history is uh...more mixed...I’ll check back in 4-5 years. The cynic in me absolutely predicts sob stories about how management was “forced” to make…
This. I assume they were hoping BF2042 would anchor the event but that things are going worse then planned (not surprising given the state of the game). BW’s RPG’s are all too far out to start hyping, Respawns games are also largely too far out, they just did an event for Dead Space, and beyond that it’s Sports (meh)…
Man, I’m a bit surprised this wasn’t just an article stating, “Don’t play it until DICE finishes the game they sold consumers.”
Equal opportunity fanservice is the best fanservice! Full, practical armor/outfits and skimpy bikini-outfits for all!
Guess so, clicked thinking they were back only to notice these are not Kotaku staffers and the strike is still ongoing.
Me too when I first saw it, though it was obviously not from Ukraine since folks were claiming it was a Russian A-10 and...they don’t have those. To Luke’s point, Arma looks bloody great and it’s a low-res, dark video that makes it easier to mistake the visuals for IRL.
Because they didn’t think BF2042 was poor quality, they thought it was one of the best quality games with the fewest bugs they’ve shipped. And they were wrong.
I’m inclined to think it’s a bit of both. I get them wanting to do away with deaths from a design perspective (even if I don’t entirely agree with the notion, though I dig the idea behind it), but it honestly looks like they have to rebuild EVERYTHING from scratch. That’s why the updated scoreboard is taking them…
They’re wrong to blame Halo for BF2042's problems. Blaming Halo for a drop in player counts? Absolutely reasonable and perfectly fine.
It sucks because a lot of the community is frustrated at developers and stuff and like...this is 100% on leadership from top to bottom. EA leadership, DICE leadership, and all management in between.
Man, I think we all assumed EA/DICE would apparently completely miss why this game severely underperformed and...man were we right.
“However, sharing confidential information, including from internal forums, is a violation of our employment agreement, and, more importantly, a violation of the trust that team members place in each other to be able to freely express themselves and have candid, productive discussions.”
A message than can be completely and totally ignored largely without consequence, as we’ve seen that all the “I’m never preordering again!” claims don’t stick.
“We’re ahead of schedule.”
Ye, and sadly the US doesn’t have great consumer protection laws like the EU has. IIRC Washington has some good protections and a few folks have gone through that method to try to secure refunds (and been successful). It seems when a government agency gets involved in the refund process for any storefront things start…
To a point yes, but with the announced delay of S1 content that complicates things. Plus the fact that EA, again, seems to have lied about the state of an open beta build, claiming that the BF2042 open beta was months old when...there was nearly no change between that build and the build at launch.
Petition is solid even if it’s mostly performative, OP of it initially said they had a class action lawyer lined up and walked that back.
“You don’t like NFT’s? Here’s a free NFT that you can sell through our partnered third party marketplace to some gullible idiot while we make money off that “item” we gave you and you just sold.”
