Yeah I was at the show and for the first hour, the sun was just beating down on us. I eventually just moved and stood near the concession stands, where I actually had a much better view.

I probably won't watch this, but I'll assume it ends with Ricky Gervais converting the entire nation of Ecuador to atheism
I loved that. Was like a nod (as if we needed one by then) that "yes, this is THE episode".
Funny because the last few months have had a lot more title changes than usual. They just picked the most boring guys to have them.
Huh, I literally just read the review on here panning his episode of The Characters, and now feel ever so slightly bad for being so harsh.
Which is the one who derails every single point with lame, terrible bits and impressions? Because that guy is the fucking worst. In the few episodes I listened to I felt like I spent more time waiting for his bullshit to be over than I did actually listening to what they were saying.
As someone who has been watching the JAP Battle on repeat for much of the last two weeks, I am very happy. After The Leftovers, You're The Worst and Review (kinda) were spared, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend was my last and deepest worry for cancellation so this is delightful news for such a warm and sweet show.
Exactly how many moods have you?
Really enjoying this, but "Untitled 2" from Fallon is still my very early Song of the Year, still watch that performance every day. Really like the version on this, but kinda wish it held together as the song he performed that night.
Yep, Beyonce, Rihanna AND Kanye were really struggling there before their "stunts".
I don't think I even made it through the first hour. When they actually advertised a recap of LAST WEEK'S Shane McMahon segment before a commercial break, I threw in the towel. What is it with WWE's ability to catch lightning in a bottle and then just do nothing with it
I loved how her speech was less "HOLY SHIT I JUST WON AN OSCAR" and more "yep, just won an oscar".
Wow, Spotlight came out of nowhere. The first and last award of the night. It really looked like a celebration for The Revenant and then that happened. And I thought Mark Rylance would be the big upset of the night, not to mention the Sam Smith win after that powerful Lady Gaga performance. Weird, weird night. But YES…
If I remember correctly Alan Sepinwall also tweeted once that the pilot script was appallingly bad, so that probably didn't help.
I haven't actually. I tend to stay away from "bad movie" podcasts because I haven't seen most of the movies they talk about so a lot of it flies over my head, but I've liked the few I've heard of HDTGM and Abbi's always a bonus so I'll check it out!
I think Get Lucky will come back again towards the end of the decade when people start doing their retrospectives on the 2010s. Even the "modern classics" need to have a breather for a few years.
I was rooting so hard for Linklater to win director last year, that it's a further slap in the face that they're gonna just give it to Inarritu again this year. Obviously it's total hindsight, and The Revenant could well have been an ambitious failure (I haven't seen it yet), but it would have been such a great moment…
I feel like Abbi and Ilana should have showed up on CBB by now. Seems right in their wheelhouse.
The most recent episode definitely elevated it from "a thoroughly pleasant and charming way to spend 45 minutes" to "legitimately one of the best shows on television". I think it helps a lot as well that it feels like everyone on the show is having the best time making it.
I'm really loving You Must Remember This. Just caught up with the Charles Manson season. Brilliant, harrowing stuff. And not only are the stories great (and Karina is a FANTASTIC storyteller, you can't help but hang on her every word), but it's gotten me into all these classic Hollywood movies that I would have never…
