I had a really nice long post written explaining how women were deliberate driven out of games development and programming by men and then girls were kept out of gaming by the sons of men, but then the stupid android keyboard ate the post.

According to your article i guess that makes us sexist.
“I work at a AAA studio, fewer than 1 in 10 CVs we get are from women. Not everything is caused by the patriarchy ffs”
Not everything is caused by the patriarchy, but the fact that you get so few women applicants definitely is.
Whether a small development studio is all male or all female or what-have-you does not matter.
bruh. they could have easily managed to hire one woman, but didn’t. chill.
I would actually love to see a film where Batman is less “I am vengeance, fear my uber-gritty post-traumatic violence!” and more “mythic”. That’s a major part of his character, after all. Playing on the fears of “the cowardly lot”.
Man Valve could really take advantage of this. Just release a statement that they’re banning all racist games (even though they’re probably banned already) and two seconds later Epic will be announcing that they’re happy to have racism on their storefront.
That’s why he needs an orphaned circus performer partner to brighten his life a little.
It’s almost like they’re a cynical business entity that played fans and the media like a fiddle.
The fact that there are people who will drop a hundred grand on a JPEG because that means they “own” it is just... ridiculous. It’s legitimately absurd.
According to Sweeney, he and Epic make a distinction between the company as a game developer and as a tech company. So while game dev Epic won’t ever touch NFTs (at least, for now...) the tech company version of Epic is open and ready to do business with blockchain devs and creators.
Agree with everything. Although I think “Not a dime ‘till streaming time” would be catchier.
Seriously. I’ve never understood the “visual genius” thing for Snyder. Very identifiable, sure, but poor framing and depth, thanks to muddled CGI and a lack of clear lines. This though? This is truly stunning on a visual level, with on-set light providing interesting contrasts and silhouettes and the like.
It’s Wabbit Season/Duck Season, aka the Republican approach. “Whatever the Democrats say they want, we want the opposite!”
God damn am I sick of seeing the pandemic era phrase “Only in theaters”...I have a new phrase for you folks. “Not getting a dime till it’s streaming on a service I already pay for, for no additional fees.” We’ll probably never go to a theater again. For a lot of reasons, the pandemic being just one.
Visually, looks a world apart from the Snyderverse. Which, I know, some people think Snyder “at least has good cinematography,” but he doesn’t really - his films are often ugly, drenched in overly artificial CGI and unearned slow-mo. So this seems like a big improvement.
Frankly, I feel like NFTs are the perfect example of how absolutely out of touch consumerism has become with the human experience. And, on that matter, the real extent of income inequity.
Epic: Gives a bunch of expensive games away for free to get some goodwill.
Also Epic: We welcome scams and please hurry up and destroy the environment!
Real nice of Epic to give me another reason to never use or interact with any of their platforms ever again
Just one more reason to never buy anything from the “Epic” store.
