$10 map packs and $5 skins and $60 yearly instalments of barely updated franchises that all, somehow, manage to sell indicate that these episodes would not be reasonably priced. With Apple's 30% cut of the app store I can't see developers using them as a more viable alternative to established publishers.

"Similarly, rather than purchasing a "Red" or "Blue" version, why not tie the Pokémon that appear to who your starter Pokémon is?"

Point 7: "single, custom Pokémon". Pretty certain that that's meant to read "Pokéball". #corrections

This is just the tail end of the Facebook Gamer Cycle. I saw it going through secondary school. People who don't know games are drawn in by the wall posts of their friends, are compelled to play for a while by the cheap Skinner Box tactics employed and then hit burnout. With no actual substance to draw them back in,

Activision + EA + Ubisoft + episodic content being the norm = wallet rape. Does anyone seriously think that episodic content is going to make games cheaper?

MGDMT only updates every Monday so people can follow it quite easily on Kotaku.

I like to imagine that there's a really disillusioned stereotypical French Amazon executive behind these leaks. He's sick of the industry for whatever reason, and he orders the unveiling of minor industry announcements with a wave of his hand at a worried IT guy while he sips wine and stares forlornly.

Oh Gabe. Please never leave Valve or die.

Yeah but the conventions of society require that a company doesn't discriminate against people for absurd reasons, such as against a journalist organisation for reporting the news. No NDAs were involved so Activision had no right to even ask that of Gameblog, let alone retaliate so heavy handedly.

And with Skyrim they're looking more at expansion pack size stuff. Yaaaaaaay.

Agreed. Not specifying the need for writing qualifications among your writing staff results in Bethesda... *ahem*... storylines.

Troooooooooooooooooooooooooooo....

So... are they going to be starting relatively fresh story wise? I did quite a bit of reading into what the hell was going on during MGS4 (as well as having played MGS2 and 3 fully) and still was hazy on it. If they lean on every little thing that's ever happened in the MGS universe for story again then I will be

"Dreamboat". I'm going to assume (and please forgive me if I'm wrong) based on your name, tone and fact that you're commenting on Kotaku that you're a heterosexual western male. If that is the case then you're going to have to excuse everyone's lack of surprise that you don't find the man attractive.

I want to play Pokémon on my Vita. Sony said that I would only ever need the Vita but it doesn't have any Pokémon games on it. What bullshit.

You're on the internet. I'm sure you know how to find out.

Pretty sure those are Pikaman cosplayers actually.

Yay cheap shots.

Funny you mention that because during the initial reveal - before they revealed the name of what they were showcasing - I was thinking "damn this looks like it might be quite a chilling horror game". Then the protagonist picked up a gun.

Well, I think your disappointment is rooted in unrealistic expectations of how passionate kids are going to be about gaming. So you might want to curtail those.
