You're mathematically correct if you assume the spec sheets are accurate. They are, unfortunately, just marketing material. In perfect signal conditions, with zero background activity.. Sure. In the real world, with who knows what custom apps installed and running background data & tasks, powering off the radio or the

I've always seen smaller tubs and tubes at Lowes... Like this 8 oz tub, for instance.

Recommended your post for giving me a candidate that met my request —- But since I made this comment I've moved to BTSync'ing my entire phone back to my desktop and sorting out the cloud backups from there. Much easier for me to manage instead of configuring multiple services on the phone.

Sounds right to me. That's getting you aimed right for reversing into the spot. If the left-front corner was in your rear window you'd be on the sidewalked aimed out into traffic. Instead you're in traffic, aimed at the sidewalk so you can back into the spot.

Makes sense. I do wish we could ditch carrier / manufacturer branding — At least keep their hands off the core software and limit them to bundled apps.

"First, instead of a search widget on-screen, you get a persistent search bar across all home-screens ..."

Suggestion? While "Mac:" is the first word, it's not very prominent if you're trying to skim. Maybe some bold mention of platform near the download / source link. I only mention this because this does seem like a genuinely neat little program, but I didn't see the narrow audience until I hit the download link at their

My coworker and I got a pair of the MacAlly ones for our office. Both died after a month. Didn't bother with any warranty, they were just flimsy feeling / looking trash.

You can see if you look at the debug console - the "camera man" uses some Arma scripting actions to attach him to the drone. He's not an independent object anymore as far as the game is concerned - he is part of the drone.

This, a million times. I work IT in a call center. If something is preventing calls from being handled (instant loss of revenue, plus penalties), run back / call me / IM me with an urgent request. Other than that I absolutely must insist on going through proper channels for even the most trivial seeming request

Yeah. Plastic haze is just micro abrasions - very small scratches. My understanding is that polishing compounds are all basically the same, but I'm hardly an expert. It's possible you'll want different qualities for different materials. Just Googling "buffing compound for plastic" gives me plenty of results though,

It's my understanding that defogging / scratch repair with oils works by filling the gaps with an optically similar material. So the haze / scratches / etc aren't repaired in any way, you've just got a coating of oil filling them in. Looks great on day one, but I don't think olive oil will be too good on there for

I was just admiring the look and agreeing with Victor's remark that metro tiles work better as a web landing page than a desktop. And then you reminded me... I've tried many NTP replacements, and they're all too much effort. The built in NTP just works, always giving me a nice tilled view of my most frequently

Volume Butler seems like an automation package. Great for some users, not for others. I tried a few automation options and always got bogged down in all the details of trying to figure out when I wanted what behavior.. It was a headache. I'm certain it works for some, but not for me. Shush is, to me, the simplest

I'd take this more as evidence of improved performance from a RAM increase — a 45% reduction in pagefile usage is going to be a significant improvement in performance - even swapping to SSD is an order of magnitude slower than accessing RAM. Agreed that the SSD lifetime concerns are a non-issue.

"Paint in daylight" — Excellent if you can, but if that doesn't fit your schedule a 500-1000 watt halogen worklight is excellent for painting. Though when they're approaching the wattage of an electric space heater, you might not want to use one in the summer. ;)

Well, you didn't miss out in this case. The UI went beyond ugly to nearly non-functional. Very counter-intuitive. I finally got it to start uploading some files — no indication if it was a scheduled sync or a one-time thing, so I was in the dark about that. And it slaughtered my battery, even when I was off wifi and

I would think, from a design POV, it would be even simpler — It's all laid out clearly and in depth. No need to come up with your own design, just follow the rules.

It is a UI mess, but at first glance seems to work. I'm giving it a few days.

I'd have to say your phone is the odd one out if that's the case, because the past three phones I've owned were still blindingly bright displaying light colors at minimal brightness at night. Just blindly inverting the colors might not be the prettiest, but it will produce a much darker display.
