I like it. Unique without being too out there, and visually linked to the enterprise-wide UI refresh.
From the review, this isn't anything like a background check - more like the the results of Googling someone. The scary bit isn't the fact that people have access to this info (since they always have) but that people are buying into the security theater and believing this app can do anything to keep them safe.
Since they're remaining backwards compatible on cartridges, I imagine the apps ("Leaplets") will also be the same - which means ~$7.50 each, codes sold in two packs for ~$15.
Which is part of why it's a beta. Seems to me, allowing you to set resharing rights per circle would be a good solution. So, family, best friends, etc - no resharing. General acquaintances feed - sure.
If you're buying a bike anyway, the price isn't bad. But I just lucked into a free bike, so I'd love to see a speed sensor you could add on to any bike. DIY anyone? Wonder if they'll sell enough for someone to reverse engineer one.
@PJ Edwards Inviting any more? I'd appreciate it if so - saiboogu at gmail com
@InvisionSniperX I was even a pro user in the past, but it got heavy and my IM needs got light. Now all I need is a Sametime compatible client for my PC and Android phone (work needs). Last I saw Trillian wouldn't touch Sametime for mobile use because that's all handled server-side and Trillian, like most clients,…
And Remodium for Android. Only OSX/IOS app combo I can't find a suitable fill in for.
Lady Liberty isn't weeping because she doesn't live there - these people signed over freedom from this sort of action when they bought / rented into an association controlled environment. You want freedom to let your dog shit all over? Move elsewhere.
Facebook does that, it's just awkward (like doing anything besides just posting a status/image/comment is on FB). Click the little lock, and you can choose what groups to make a status visible to. Hopefully Google makes it smoother.
I can't speak for the selection of edutainment on iPad, but I know nothing on Android approaches the edutainment value of Leapfrog's stuff - they know their stuff when it comes to that. Sure, the apps aren't as shiny, but they do a better job of educating while entertaining. deLos was a little blunt about it, but he's…
I don't know, I'm tempted. Do you have experience with Leapfrog products for your kid? They're generally tough, well designed and a good balance of educational & fun. I love the Tag & Explorer for my 4 year old, and this tablet is tempting too. I'm under the impression it runs downloadable apps, no cartridges. If they…
The failings of this design (and I agree with your assessment there) don't point out flaws in the process, just the decisionmakers who participate. My understanding of this project is that they are testing the design and build process, not the actual vehicle.
It's a bright and clear design that can surely be seen by someone using a lighter to search around in the dark. The assumption was that many folks would have a lighter, since many were smokers at the time.
Lulzsec offered up the name for a vaguely defined global operation and invited everyone to take potshots at everyone else. So how is this not an AntiSec/LulzSec operation?
Also helps to have family in the ticketing business for your airline of choice. Book my tickets, make another call, get an exit row — Bonus for me, on Delta at least. That plus a few unpleasant flights on Southwest are part of the reason I'm going to stay brand loyal, short of special circumstances.
Maybe it's different in the UK, but isn't a census a ... Public record?
Evidently my copy-paste was suffering a bit that day.
Moron. But a damn shame for his family. And given his profession, I would imagine he'd consider that comment a fitting tribute.
