So your point is it’s not so much the streamer in question, but rather the social element - interacting with the streamer through chat/group chat among the viewers - that makes it more entertaining? If so, that’s a good point of view and not an angle I’d considered when I thought about the medium the first time.
That’s fair - my analysis is more broad-brush and doesn’t really capture the the nuance of individual exception. It wasn’t my intent to come off as ageist, but it’s hard to deny that someone streaming Fortnite isn’t really something that’s designed to attract the attention of someone fast approaching retirement.

It’s definitely generational, but I don’t see this as anything inherently bad or good. My guess is that as we age, the brain eventually stops growing (usually around age 25-30) and for most of us that likely means that we’re just not as interested in newer experiences, but prefer to stick with what we already know.…
