Not when the game is clearly and obviously meant to be played for what it is a combination between Bloodborne and Dark Souls
There are tons of items that reference “increasing poise” or altering it in some way, not just as some form of weapons art that temporarily turn it on or off. This is just some community manager or some representative trying to put out a fire without understanding the situation.
Players: “We think this stat might be broken, tell us what it does.”
It’s like...for years you’ve been selling this chocolate cake at your bakery. Everyone loves it, tastes great. Then one day, you stop selling chocolate cake and now you sell vanilla cake...but you still call it chocolate cake.
If you’re staggered, you can’t attack—it interrupts your animation. Poise means you aren’t staggered, which means you can attack even though someone has hit you.
100% this. It’s bad communication on From Software’s part, and they should be called out for it. Same with the mysterious bannings on PC.
