It was weird they had a standard Charger Sport for 1976 only which was a renamed 1975 only Coronet Coupe and twin to the Plymouth Fury. For 1977 the standard Charger Sport and Coronet sedan were restyled and renamed Monaco while the Cordoba based Charger SE/Daytona carried on. 1978 added the Magnum above the Charger.

My first car was a hand-me-down gold 1978 Charger SE. It had velour seats rather than the rich Corinthian leather of the Cordoba. It was my high school car. The fun part was that it was very temperamental in the mornings (like it’s owner). No matter how long I warmed it up, it would always die halfway to school.

Curious how many bird poops these get hit by before an owner can apply PPF and Ceramic

I had a ‘79 LeBaron and, well, yeah, super comfortable road tripper (and you don’t need a ton of horsepower to cruise well above the double nickel) but can attest that the bloom was off the rose on long-term durability as well as performance by then.

I love it, but that price deserves a bigger smack down than Chris Rock. No dice.

it’s a nice little 80's Asian pickup. But what it isn’t is a Toyota and only a Toyota cultist is going to spend north of 8K for a small 80's pickup. It’s ambitious but crazy. Crazy Pipe.

I’m embarrassed for commenters that this wasn’t the first answer.

I’m sorry, you are all wrong.  It’s The little nash rambler by the playmates.

Now imagine what 8 years could have done for the Fiesta’s fuel economy because of improvements in engine technology.

Or otherwise, imagine what a modern Maverick would be like with an 8-year-old 1.0L engine.

It’s like comparing prices across decades without adjusting for inflation.

I have a 1970 Trail 70 that has been in the family since before I was born and it’s still a total hoot. Except that with a 200lb rider it’s a death wish in traffic. As much as I’d love a usable companion (the kids can ride the 70!) with a matching Dax frame, I think the Trail 125 is more functional. I could actually,

One new thing that does need to be dealt with is....air conditioned cables.

I’m not a democrat, but I frequently end up voting against the GOP. My reasoning is that the dems usually can’t do a whole lot. They nibble around the edges of thier policy. When the repubs get in? Bam. Corporate income tax cut 10%. Tax on the wealthy cut in perpetuity. Consumer protections eroded. Social safety nets

Well, to be totally realistic, a lot of companies have ended up emulating Apple as Apple has redefined the paradigm of what is acceptable and expected.

Agreed. I think it really started with so called ‘news’ shows chasing ratings by distributing sensational content beginning in the late 80s. Southern California local news, CNN having to fill a 24 hour cycle, and like you said, AM radio shows (and FOX ‘news’) telling their audience what they want to hear in the

Cool, can’t want until Holidays and everyone shows up to the house needing a charge or they can’t go home...

Cable news and talk shows are totally trash. No matter what network. I was reminded of this recently. Prior to the pandemic I went to the corporate office and they had a gym. CNN was always on the main flat screens in front of all of the machines and even some of the actual machines themselves. Just a bunch of talking

I dunno. I know folks in the funeral business, and when the pandemic took traditional funerals away for a while, it really screwed people up when they didn’t properly grieve for their loved ones.

Talk about an easy call. Coming from the slapdash 1st gen fastback Charger to the classic 2nd gen—talk about hitting one out of the ballpark:
