My take on the Thing is that it is not something really coveted by auto enthusiasts, but gets a big thumbs up from the general public. Therefore, I'd lean toward NP for the general public, ND for auto enthusiasts.

Looks like a fun toy, something to be bought with fun money. Not something to be used as a primary vehicle. Would be great for running around the city or on the farm, but horrible for highway use or long commutes. Same story as Jeep Wrangler and Bronco.
Hmmm.... no BP stations anywhere near me. Am i lucky?
If you weigh less than, say, 200lbs, you should be able to stand on an empty soda can and it should support your weight, as long as there are no imperfections (dents) in the aluminum. Have a buddy lightly tap on the can with a pencil while you're standing on it, and it will instantly collapse.
Counterpoint: A fwd sedan with a summer set of tires and a winter set of tires will perform better, safer and with less expense than a typical AWD sedan. In fact, expenses can be significantly less if you are able to store the 2nd set of wheels/tires in your garage or shed, and swap them out twice/year. This is what i…
Hmmm, none of those are available here on the Great Plains. The only ubiquitous chain here seems to be Casey’s, which has good pizza.
NP for a nostalgia-rich wagon, but after deducting $1k for the modified engine (stock wasn’t much better, as those 390s tended to leak fluids), $1k for damages and $2k for being a Ford, i’ll go with ND. Probably a NP for a Ford fan, though.
I think you are experiencing the same thing as many who are relatively new to trucks. Those of us who have been driving pickup trucks for a while (over 40 years now, for me) just don’t really care.
As others have said, minivans are much better at hauling lumber (and kids) than any pickup truck.
Any pre-1970 Big3 vehicle
Counterpoint on the color scheme: it looks like a tacky out-of-place afterthought.
Well, let’s see... in addition to the Brake Priority Logic...
AWD on the first-gen would activate when necessary at all speeds. You could “lock” the rear diff with a button on the dash, and that would start to disengage at 10mph and fully disengage at 18mph.... sonthat may be what you’re thinking of...
And yet the Ridgeline outworks most suburban trucks out there.. go figure.
Civic hatchback.
I dunno. Among Ford afficionados, this era is the most embarassing F150 generation ever. It really lacked capability compared to the competition, as well as the next-gen F150. If that doesn’t bother you, then maybe NP.
I strongly suspect the mid- to late-90s Chevy pickups were their most reliable generation.
I have an early Gen2 Ridgeline, which probably cracks the Top10 for ugliest trucks. Fortunately, the rest of the truck more than makes up for it, and that is saying a lot since truck buyers are some of the most vain vehicle buyers out there. Still, a lot of folks can't pony up the cajones to take that leap.
Peak Dodge design was in the 80s, i think Ford was in the late 70s, Chevy was 70s & 80s, although they had some good-lookin’ trucks in the 60s.
